Has anyone used it? Do you still use it? Have you tried different ones? Do you have a favourite and if so why?

Never bothered before, thinking of trying them out - but which one?

Help!

I've only ever used Ocado (Waitrose) about three times. They're generally really good but you have to spend £75 minimum to get free delivery, and as I usually spend less than that I don't usually bother.

I only did it in the first place because I had a bug so bad I had to cancel my birthday night out  . I usually don't mind actual as opposed to virtual shopping, but can easily see the attraction for people less able to get out of the house.

Ocado are good. The website is linked to stock levels so you can never order something that then doesn't turn up (like most of the other ones).

I like Ocado too - they bring stuff in colour-coded "fridge" and "freezer" bags. Not sure you have to spend quite that much these days, but I can't find a link on the main page & I've forgotten my login.

I've only ever used Tesco - none of the others will deliver to my area (not that it's bad, just out of the catchment range). They're OK - not brilliant, they tend to use about 30 carrier bags, when the shopping would easily fit into half that, and they are often late. They have improved since I first started using them though.

I use Ocado because they deliver on time and whilst they are expensive their stuff is fresh and tends to last

Ocado, because they sell stuff that noone else does, and because you don't get stupid substitutes and they always turn up on time.

I wish I could try Ocado, but I can't! Mind you, even if I could, I don't think I would want to use them for basics, because they are not cheap. Waitrose is fun for all the things which the other ones don't sell, and I always spend a small fortune when I go there. So I am quite glad there isn't one too near me...

Anyway, I have used Tesco and Sainsbury online, although neither recently. I thought Tesco was very good, but it depends at least partly on who is at the other end, it would seem. I have had some very strange substitutions - one of the best was cod in parsley sauce which turned up in my shopping (I am vegetarian) instead of parsley!

Avoid Sainsbury's Online like the plague -- they had a nasty habit of sending me stuff that was just about to go out of date. Grrr.

My Sainsbury's driver left the keys in his lorry and while he was delivering me my shopping some kids stole it. :D

So the driver was in tears, the police came and pissed themselves laughing and it was all a bit of a traumatic experience.

Since then I've used Ocado - it's always been good but last time they delivered the red onions were mouldy and the carrots I'd ordered were slimy at the end. I was really pissed off because the reason I'd used them was because I was cooking and didn't have time to shop and had to go out and get more onions. I ordered small quantities which hadn't come from their shops but now I wouldn't order in quantities that's smaller than what they sell in bags.

I use Tesco now and again (cos they are the only supermarket that delivers to our area in the sticks  ) and they've been OK so far. I've had a few dodgy substitutions, but now I tell 'em I don't want substitutions and all is fine.

Pity the poor delivery guys. A friend of mine had to leave his locksmithing job after a hospital operation on his leg.

Ended up as a delivery guy for ASDA but had to give that up as well due to people ordering dozens of bottles of water, bulk buying of dog and cat food etc. and having to carry it up the stairs :( :D

Ocado are too pricey and have a very limited range.

Sainsburys are fine, as long as "substitution" is your favourite word.....

Tesco are, imho, the best of a bad bunch.

Always Ocado. If they get anything wrong or deliver late they give me wine :)
but it doesn't happen very often.

I have used Waitrose and Sainsbury's but Waitrose were the best. Everything I ordered arrived, unlike Sainsbury's who substituted croissants with crumpets.

Well I finally went with Tescos. They were fine. One missing item not charged for. One extra item not charged for. One incorrect item charged for incorrectly as a result. All replacements were fine. Delivery was on time. He was a very nice man.

Overall - happy. Will use again.

:)

Waitrose (Ocado) are by far the best, had a delivery only yesterday and have never had a "substitution"
plus they give you random free gifts :)

That's only cos their range is a bit pants.

It's easy to have stuff in stock if you don't stock many different items....

Best combo of range + availability is, imho, Tesco.

Sainsbury have a similar range on offer, sadly the chances of actually getting what you order are akin to being the winner in a Reader's Digest comp....
