Bailiffs and Police attempt to evict squat near Trafalgar Square

Nowt happening and tbh from a police strategy pov they tend to strike in the mornings when people are sleeping and there's not many people about. Like 5 or 6 am.

There's about 12 coppers about 100 ft away opposite Garrick - eight uniforms and four plain clothes. And a squad car circling.

I was there earlier today to drop some food off. No word of police moving on them at that time. Around 1pm. Though they did tell me that they have been told to clear off tomorrow (NYE). Its ticketed event this year.

Some photos. They have set up kitchen and tent opposite the empty bank on Charing X road.

They are friendly bunch. They have been giving out food to homeless over Christmas.

One of them has this website : Streetkitchen

We are needed in London.

On Christmas night we rang the so called homeless helpline for ‘No Second Night Out’ to be told there was NO homeless outreach in London that night or any support. We will continue to serve the needs of our homeless community until everyone is adequately housed. If Westminster council wish us to move from the streets they must first provide shelter, support and housing to all those in need so as we are no longer needed on the streets
.

Definitely been moved on from the corner now. They seem to now be at the top of Trafalgar Square by the Yodas (so not far) but no idea if that's permanent - doesn't look it.
