I think the biggest argument against capital punishment is that our legal system is not infallible. You can let someone out of prison, and compensate them financially, but you can't bring them back from the dead.

The second biggest argument is that if killing people is wrong, it's wrong for the state to do it.

I still think that the death penalty should only be considered for people who want to reintroduce the death penalty. Not all of them of course, just those found guilty of murder. That would keep everyone happy

18 July 2024: Police still to question crossbow murders suspect

It has now been reported that although now conscious, triple-murder suspect, Kyle Clifford, has not yet been interviewed by Hertfordshire Police as he is recovering from an apparently self-inflicted crossbow wound to his upper body which is said to have pierced his spinal cord, leaving him paralysed.

The detectives investigating the murders reportedly await guidance from medical staff before attempting to interview Kyle Clifford about the matters that led to his arrest.

Seems he will be in a wheelchair for life, of which the next at least 40 years will be spent in a prison. Will be a truly horrendous life for a violent narcissist to endure. Shame on the bleeding hearts who'd see him put out of his misery with a quick hanging.
