you followed up with a stupid question. Not really sure what you’re on about.
Assassination attempt on Trump, 13th July 2024
"Yeah i did and i'm immune so fuck you!"www.urban75.net
IIRC the quote is accurate. It was obvious satire, made to point out the consequences of the SCOTUS decision in the context of Trump's open desire to vindictively pursue those he perceices as enemies.
No idea what this means. I don't follow David, I only heard about this tweet beacuse of the furore. Does he have a history, as a british journalist, of threatening US presidents then? When he said that the US President should kill people this time, he didn't mean it. Unlike, the last time he said the US President should kill people, when he meant it.
No doubt with HamasBy the by, in case Starmer tries to extradite him as a suspect, I can testify that Jeremy Corbyn was at the Durham Miner's Gala yesterday.
He was a supposedly leftwing British journalist who championed Bush's murderous attack on Iraq.No idea what this means. I don't follow David, I only heard about this tweet beacuse of the furore. Does he have a history, as a british journalist, of threatening US presidents then?
Or perhaps a previous comment he made has its own context? Dunno
Ne neither. Shamelessly stole it from another site.Beat me to it - I’d been trying to generate that exact image (no Photoshop skillz).
Not from when it was posted on this thread a couple of hours ago, then?Ne neither. Shamelessly stole it from another site.
I think we'd remember if Clooney had gone for the presidency before
Was it? Do you seriously think I was going to read 16 pages? Not from when it was posted on this thread a couple of hours ago, then?
WhatsApp then?
Yeah - which is why I don't buy the this has won it for Trump idea. The most recent polls have Trump neck and neck with whoever the Dems put against him. It's very likely that this election's result will come down to who most effectively gets their vote out in a handful of swing states, as it did the last two times.
President: general election Polls
Looking on twiiter/x it looks like Farage has done a good job of using it to dog whistle his fans. It's all the BBC and Jo Brand's fault, apparently. The BBC reporting on the "shock and horror" from British MPs including of course how Farage feels about "my friend Donald."
Politicians react with shock to attack on Donald Trump
Was hoping to actually see Starmer acting shocked and horrified tbh.
It'll be from ear to ear in the next poll. The most recent polls have Trump neck and neck with whoever the Dems put against him. It's very likely that this election's result will come down to who most effectively gets their vote out in a handful of swing states, as it did the last two times.
President: general election Polls
He needs the Stars and Stripes and Union Jack, could shag both flags simultaneously. Was hoping to actually see Starmer acting shocked and horrified tbh.
I bet Trump's Maga mates will be putting a slight nick in their own ears now.
Yeah, the 2 blocks of voters on each side will remain as ossified as ever, but this somehow confirms some of the bullshit, lies and self glorification that Trump spews out. Firms up what Trump's lot have been saying, just as Biden's stumbles add to the 'sleepy Joe' stuff. I suspect all this really does, particularly with the lies and conspiracies that will follow, is adds energy and further self righteousness to the Trump army. 'They tried to get him through the courts, but when that didn't work...'. Have an awful feeling it will also accelerate the authoritarian policy moves we'll see with Trump back in office. Still all to play for, but it's not looking good.Yeah - which is why I don't buy the this has won it for Trump idea.
The vote in the US is so polarised that I don't think this will change many voters intentions, anymore than most other events have. It might help Trump a little, but so does the Biden is old/senile stuff, and lots of other variables.
All the reports say he was outside the cordoned-off area that makes up the rally venue itself, on the roof of a near-by building, that looks like an industrial unit of some sort.

The US Secret Service is now investigating how a gunman with an AR-15 rifle managed to get close enough to shoot and injure former President Donald Trump at the rally. The gunman, who was killed by Secret Service agents, fired several shots at the stage from an “elevated position outside of the rally venue,” it said.
What Is AR-15 Rifle?
The AR-15, like the one used by the shooter at the Trump rally, is the semi-automatic civilian version of the military M16. The AR-15 is classified as a "modern sporting rifle" (MSR) and is commonly used for competitions and hunting.
According to the Firearm Industry Trade Association, the initials AR stand for ArmaLite, the company that developed it in the 1950s.
Further, the Association stated that AR-15 and other semi-automatic rifles are not "assault weapons" or “assault rifles.” An assault rifle is fully automatic, functioning as a machine gun. While AR-15s and similar semi-automatic rifles may resemble military rifles like the M-16, they operate like other civilian sporting firearms, firing only one round with each pull of the trigger.
How Dangerous Is AR-15?
The AR-15 fires bullets at a high velocity, capable of releasing 30 or even 100 rounds in rapid succession, making it extremely deadly. A single bullet can create a shock wave intense enough to shatter a skull and destroy vital organs, The Washington Post reported.
“It literally can pulverize bones, it can shatter your liver and it can provide this blast effect,” a trauma surgeon told the media outlet.
