http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/jun/25/david-davis-spy-agencies-law said:Britain's intelligence agencies are only subject to the law "in theory"
MI6, MI5 and Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) will see an inflation-busting increase in their combined £1.9 billion budget, underlining the Government’s concern over the growing terrorist threat following the Woolwich attack.
Police spending on counter-terrorism will also be protected and will rise in line with inflation.
The percentage increase in the budgets of the intelligence agencies – at more than three per cent in addition to inflation – will be the largest of any item of government spending including the NHS, schools and international development.
It will lead to the agencies receiving about another £100 million in funding annually from 2015.

I am sure I have asked and have had an answer to this before but is it possible to find out if the police have a file on you and then, what is in the file? I assume you could do an FOI request, is that right?

I told this story on U75 once before but perhaps it suits this thread.
I was out one Sunday photographing around the local place and not thinking anything of it I stopped near an army base where I walked around a bit taking photos of the trees mainly.
Monday morning there was a knock on my door and two police detectives in plain clothes were there, they asked me if I had been near xyz army base, I said possibly, they asked if I had been taking photographs I said probably, they asked if they could see the photographs, I said I don't see why not, so I had them in the house, and showed them the images from that session. They seemed satisfied and duly left.
Big Brother is watching
and phone the local constabulary to see whether they are in fact police acting on ordersI should ask to see a warrant next time if I were you. I'm not saying there was anything illegal in your house but as a matter of general principle like.
I wouldn't want to send them all my address, ID, photo etc - if they haven't been watching you they would after that, surely!Kidda - my mistake. it's not new, but i read it the other night for the first time

Actually there was a slightly embarrassing image on my computer, a lets call it an exotic studio shot (just adult stuff) and I was slightly wrong-footed because they saw it before I could close the window.I should ask to see a warrant next time if I were you. Would you do that Pickman's? honestly?and phone the local constabulary to see whether they are in fact police acting on orders
yes. wouldn't you or would you simply let a couple of clowns in some uniform bowl about your house?Would you do that Pickman's? honestly?
I am afraid I am rather used to the police pretty much doing whatever they want despite my wishes, it was the police that forcibly took me away when I was ill, twice. Added to that I don't really know my rights.yes. wouldn't you or would you simply let a couple of clowns in some uniform bowl about your house?
next time you are unwell try the nhs, who provide a more humane service.I am afraid I am rather used to the police pretty much doing whatever they want despite my wishes, it was the police that forcibly took me away when I was ill, twice. Added to that I don't really know my rights.
At this very moment I am trying to get to see my GP, the earliest I can get an appointment is two weeks away! About as much use as a chocolate teapot!next time you are unwell try the nhs, who provide a more humane service.

aye. get yourself to a place of safety that isn't a a police station (so a&e, pretty much).
aslo useful bit of information: if the police are trying to pick you up for being 'unwell', they can (in theory) only get your from your home/private property with a warrant - according to 'how it's supposed to work', they need a section 135 + a warrant if you're on private property. they can use ection 136 and no warrant required if you're in a public place.
in theory
a friend of a friend of a friend etc etc . had a partner who had a bit of a uniform thing, and a bit of a wrongheaded fantasyhotness for policemen. so he decided to make her fantasies come true.yes. wouldn't you or would you simply let a couple of clowns in some uniform bowl about your house?
