that child actress is bloody awful tho, incredibly irritating to watchI've just started to watch Constellation, starring Noomi Rapace. Gets off to a good start. A little bit about it in this interview in the Guardian.
Actor Noomi Rapace: ‘I came from a poor farm, I’m not educated, no one opened doors for me’
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star on playing an astronaut, the significance of her surname and the time Orlando Bloom broke her nosewww.theguardian.com
Somewhat annoyingly, though, around 15 minutes in to the first episode, I think I've already realised/guessed an important plot point/twist.
Now you mention it, yes, I agree.that child actress is bloody awful tho, incredibly irritating to watch
Probably the Arena documentary...Albeit I wasn't surprised by the Chanel Nazi collaborator storyline, as I'd seen a documentary or docudrama about that on... I think it was BBC2... a while back.
I just come onto this thread to see if anyone else was watching masters of the air, besides the name I really think the show is greatFantastic episode this week (5th) though. Brutal stuff.
Trying to find online the percentage of aircrews who completed their 25-mission tour (and wasn’t it 30 missions for the RAF?), but I can’t imagine many made it
I'm tempted to start on it just to see how they balance out showing the suicidal insanity of the USAAF's daylight bombing campaign while still giving a tribute to the very, very brave men involved in it.I just come onto this thread to see if anyone else was watching masters of the air, besides the name I really think the show is great
Historical bias aside, it is an excellent WWII series imo. The aerial battles are edge of the seat stuff, and not just because of the visual effects/ cinematography.I just come onto this thread to see if anyone else was watching masters of the air, besides the name I really think the show is great
Granted it would be nice to see some of these shows about British units etc, however the shows with their budget need to appeal to the American audiences, and let’s be honest if there was one about British units you’d have a bunch of flagshaggers frothing at the mouth about some kind of “woke-ism” for daring to include Indian soldiers or something.Historical bias aside, it is an excellent WWII series imo. This week’s episode (8th) is largely devoted to a USAF wing composed chiefly of African-American crews. So whereas the show continues to royally ignore the contribution and sacrifice of the RAF in the campaign, at least this episode features non-white US personnel for once and lightly touches on the institutional racism built into the US forces.
Anyway, while the show should have been told in 6 rather than 9 episodes, it is still very good overall.
I just read the book this is based on, and it's one of the best military histories I've ever read.Historical bias aside, it is an excellent WWII series imo. The aerial battles are edge of the seat stuff, and not just because of the visual effects/ cinematography.

It's been like that since forever. Errol Flynn was the lead in Objective Burma despite the fact that there were no US troops in Burma at all, at all.Spielberg and Hanks have never really given the Brits a fair crack of the whip.
There were Aussies though, of which Errol Flynn was one (although he played a yank in the movie). It's been like that since forever. Errol Flynn was the lead in Objective Burma despite the fact that there were no US troops in Burma at all, at all.
First season was very good, second was a mixed bag imo…I'd add Invasion too but a lot of people think it's shit lol.
Worth watching in your opinion? We just watched the Steve Martin documentary - this is Steve Martin from back when he used to be funny. The American Billy Connolly? Or a one-man Monty Python? You be the judge.
Absolutely, not just for his genuinely unique act, but also for the little bits of social history you get along the way.Worth watching in your opinion?
Try a bit harder with Severance, it’s great.I signed up to watch Slow Horses, very good but not as amazing as lead to believe bar Gary Oldman.
Then watched Bad Sisters, which I very much enjoyed.
But now can't seem to see anything else to make it worth staying on for.
Gave The Morning Show a try but honestly couldn't give a fuck.
Tried Severance but it's so slow without much character development.
Everything else recommended looks like sci fi, which I don't enjoy.
Anything else or am I done here?

Silo, High Desert, Shining Girls and Platonic are worth a try.
Quite a few films up there too - Still, Napoleon, Fingernaiils, Wolfwalkers, The Tragedy Of Macbeth, On The Rocks, Cha Cha Real Smooth, Boys State, Girls State, Hala, The Pigeon Tunnel.
They have fewer tv shows than Netflix but their shows tend to be better made and written. Quality over quantity.

Otherwise, no, you’ve pretty much done it.
