And next, Syria?

Care to provide a specific link for that claim? Would you also care to comment on the targeting of medical facilities by both the regime and the Russian airforce? Something I have repeatedly asked you to do but which so far you have ignored.

I can give those of you with hysterically short and selective memories any amount of links. Forgive the crappy nature of my elderly iPad but I'm going to have to keep re editing this as it frequently logs out of urban when I go elsewhere .

Assads initial concessions to the protestors included shutting down casinos and permitting the Niqab to be worn in schools, which underlines the strong pro Sunni Islamic current to the initial protests .

Syria lifts niqab ban, shuts casino, in nod to Sunnis

His original political prisoner releases were dismissed by these protestors as too tepid , who continued to violently demand the release of ALL political detainees.

The release of Alloush and others from Snednaya was hailed as " a good start " by the Syrian Human Rights league .

Syria’s Assad moves to allay fury after security forces fire on protesters

These releases also took place against a backdrop of Assad sacking security officials and governors who'd crossed the line unnecessarily .

And lest we forget, rebel supporters spent literally years insisting Alloush was actually one of these " moderates " we keep hearing about .The yanks said openly they were happy to work with his Islamic front . But you now consider him a " loony " .

It sounds like total propaganda, as you'd expect from Der Speigel . The usual anonymous voice at the end of a phone . Claiming that they keep targeting them but missing them at the same time . Then claims there's no fighters there..just civilians . But for some reason the attackers want to " soften up " these civilians with air strikes before going in . Which is complete and utter bollocks . if there were no fighters there they'd already have gone in . It's the only thing keeping them out in the first place .

A doctor's account of his workload is "emotional blackmail" now?

Fuck. Off. And. Die. Slowly - gangrene, if you can rise to it.

Who is this doctor on the other end of this phone ?

" hamza "

Please fuck off . We've heard this anonymous source less bollocks all before . It's pure emotional blackmail, exactly the way it was described . Tear jerking propaganda, as per bloody usual, aimed at garnering liberal support for foreign military intervention to prevent the usual humanitarian catastrophe blah de blah de blahdy blah . Could have been tailor written by Hilary Clinton herself . Or Blair .Surprised there's no babies getting chucked out of incubators a la Iraq .

Anyone without their head up their arse reads this as " holy fuck..we are losing big time . Please NATO invade and stave off our imminent defeat . Pretty please. "

I'm sure there are a few links to the bombing medical facilities above. It's certainly not a secret.

Incidentally, and out of deference to the agressors insures and Yemen, please don't forget that a few years back the Americans bombed marble mountain, one of the most moving places I've been to :(

Well yes, quite. I posted the majority of them but CR offers no comment whatsoever on these actions despite my asking him for comment numerous times. Strange really considering how loquacious he is on other matters.

Casually Red I have searched all the links you provided above for specific mention of Zahran Alloush, which is what I asked for. There are none.

Sic Semper Tyrannis : The East Aleppo pocket has closed

" ... Determined to complete the encirclement, the Tiger Forces launched a vital assault to capture the last village located between their positions along the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway and the Jibreen District of Aleppo City. The assault proved successful as the Syrian Armed Forces imposed full control over Umm Turaykiyah in the Al-Safira Plains. As a result, 800 ISIS terrorists that were fighting the Syrian Armed Forces at the strategic city of Al-Safira and its nearby village of Tal ‘Aran found themselves encircled for the first time in this war. The 800 ISIS terrorists have no outlet to retreat and they have no available supply lines; this means, they will either surrender to the Syrian Armed Forces or fight till the death. Given ISIS’ history; it is very likely that they choose the latter…" Al Masdar News (AMN)

I suggest that "the latter" would be a good outcome. The encircled IS people should be easy meat out in that flat, open country. The air forces will have a field day. pl

You are truly off your fucking rocker if you think this is a piece to whip up support for the west to launch ground forces in Syria. They would've done that some years ago if they were ever going to do that, ya thick cunt.

Haven't you heard? It's a humanitarian effort. Of course this is nothing like when the us/uk claimed the same thing when bombing Iraq. It's not the same thing because the glorious grand master chess man, Putin said it's a humanitarian effort and should therefore be believed without question.

The only thing missing for Putin now is the Nobel Peace Prize.

What's any of the above got to do with targeting medical facilities?

And of course MSF are well known to be committed ISIS supporters, you couldn't make it up, but some loonspud commentators really do their best.

To be fair to the twit, he's attempting to provide evidence for his claim that protestors called specifically for the release of Zahran Alloush which I asked him to. Trouble is he won't find any. The protestors were calling for the release of political prisoners, Alloush was in prison because ''The Syrian Intelligence Palestine Branch arrested him in 2009 on charges of weapons possession' (from the Wiki). That looks like a terrorism-related offence to me and I can't imagine the majority of protesters wanting him free; a small percentage of extremist nutters maybe but otherwise no chance.

I thought I made clear in my post alloush was just some asshole in flip flops. You however have twisted that into me making a claim the uprising was about him personally.

Talk about desperation for that ever elusive Internet " win "

Jesus man

You have have done nothing of the sort in post #5311. 'Some asshole in flip flops'. Where have you alluded to this rather odd description? You have provided a load of links which do not answer my original question, moreover you have decided that 'but you now consider him a " loony " ' Which looks suspiciously like ascribing thoughts to me that I did not have, again (the man never really came properly to my attention until his death). It is not about the 'win', is is essentially about yet more evasion and dishonesty on your part.

New interview with Yassin Saleh, exiled Syrian revolutionary - butchersapron has linked to him before. Pessimistic, angry, critical analysis of the current situation - includes a slagging of Fisk & Cockburn, & a withering description of the PYD ideology as 'designed specifically to enchant middle class left-wing spinsters (mostly males) in the West'.

“Syria is a unique symbol of injustice, apathy and amnesia”
New Saleh piece:

SYRIA AND THE WORLD: REACTIONARISM IS BACK, AND PROGRESSING

The latest development of this antiquation is the occupation of areas of Syria –in Latakia, Hama and others – by Russian forces, who are overseeing the regime’s military operations, and conducting their own aerial bombing campaigns. There is something reminiscent of traditional colonial campaigns in this: a colonial power deploys its superior armed forces in a weak country in order to protect its ‘legitimate interests’ there. The development comes half a century after the end of Western colonialism, and about seventy years after Syria’s independence. The air of something antiquated is enhanced by the Russian Orthodox Church giving its blessing to the Russian government’s war in Syria as a ‘holy war’. The ‘first socialist nation’, holy in its own way, is hearkening to the ‘holy Russia’ it was before the Bolshevik and Communist interval. An ‘eternal message’ is indispensable in any case. We have learnt from our own experience, and that of others, that holiness and uniqueness and eternal messages are associated with brutality, and demand an exemption from rules that supposedly apply to all actors in any given arena.

Both before and since holy Russia’s arrival, we have witnessed a stunning model of the antiquated and the holy in the form of Daesh (the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, ISIS). Daesh is an extraordinary mixture of various elements: an archaic human appearance, as contrived as it is ugly; an archaic discourse– also contrived, and utterly soulless; archaic symbols that are unfamiliar to most Muslims; and violent practices, extreme and boundless in their brutality and sensuality.

Can't believe MSF would do that and can't see why the would. Hospitals have been bombed, doctors including those from MSF have been killed. It's a fair assumption that it's forces allied with assat. The terror groups are unable to bomb places in this way.
