Alf Garnett back as part of BBC sitcom revival.

Simon Day will play Alf Garnett.

I'm not sure that in this modern PC world its possible to remake Alf Garnet. He was the Sasha Baron Cohen of his day. Acting like a twat to take the piss out of said twats. Many didn't realise this (ahead of his time really) and thought he was genuinely racist etc.

It is part of a bunch of one-off sit-com tributes which looks like impersonations of the original cast. Could be a fun novelty but you may as well watch the original series. Johnny Speight's writing was perceptive and could produce a whole episode of the family just sitting around talking bollocks. It's also notable for having a very good film spin-off in which they go for a prequel set during the WWII. Not only a great backdrop for Alf's cowardice and bigotry but has great jokes piercing the 'we're all in it together' myths of the Blitz.

"Mind your language " with a room full of multi national ISIS sleeper recruits and a language teacher who's both feminist and lesbian . jokes aplenty to be had there .

Say what you like about PC World, they have a lot of computers for sale at competitive prices.
they'll sell you any old shit though and their staff know fuck all about computers. Plus try getting served if you're a woman - well, at least round here.
