Fashion rules in the 80s let people know who was who. And no matter who you were, you were a real you. Now people are fake and have no idea who they are.
I went as Robert Smith from The Cure in the end. Couldn't find any 80s clothes in any of the charity shops in town so thought Robert Smith would be fairly easy to do. Took me an hour and a half to back comb my hair. Bit of a waste of time though because about 30 people cancelled on Saturday and I was one of only about 15 people who turned up. The woman holding the party was gutted.
