Your daily cat and kitten news

There's a new cat around the estate. She (I figure she is) was in the garden last week. Just snooping around and exploring the weeds 😆 she looked like she was a bit lost. Gorgeous white and apricot colour. I went out to coax her over but she disappeared under the gate.

Then the other night I woke up around 3 am. The window was a bit open so all outside noises were audible. There was a meow meow meow...I jumped out of bed to look out the window.
There was the lovely cat with a twin!! Both meowing to each other at the gate. They looked like they were having a grand little chat.
Then one turned towards the hedge between the house and the road and the other followed as they disappeared under the hedge and off on their night time adventures.

I haven't seen or heard them since but I am keeping an eye out for them.

Oh..and coincidentally...all the little birds have stopped singing...🥺

Went to visit friends in Chiswick today.
They have a rescue cat called Archie, who must be close to the friendliest cat ever. Straight over with leg rubs and nudges, up on the chair and table, and would’ve been happy to be stroked, chin chucked and generally petted all day.
He is such a handsome boy I make no apology for posting two pictures, even if they’re virtually the same!

Lilith brought in her latest mouse and thankfully I was able to rescue him straight away. She walked into the room with him but ran back out when she saw me heading towards her. She was about to go out of the cat flap with him but I managed to get her to drop him. He was going to go under the oven but I gently scooped him up and dropped him outside the front door. Lilith slunk out the cat flap in a hump! Just hope she doesn't bring in another one tonight as I've got to be up early tomorrow and don't need any Rodent Warfare.

How is Kizzy doing now? They both look well :)
She is good thanks, were away at a festival Friday and Saturday and were thinking about staying tonight but had no cat reports from usual sitter so came back today, as well as muddy exit route etc
They were both fine and Kizzy forgave us after about 5/10 minutes :D

Finally got a vet appointment in a few days so hopefully get an answer to what is going on with her side, also got a white dot on ear
But yes normal and playing and eating and wanting attention

Just another thought, I hadn't heard about this but it might be worth looking into whether the cats who got infected had any immune conditions or other health problems that might make them more susceptible.

If there's a more general cross-species thing going on then that's more worrying (in terms of human health too, given that humans generally get a lot closer with pet cats than with wild birds, so could end up being a public health issue).

But I haven't heard enough about it yet to have any info about that - if I find any further info that might be relevant, I'll post it here.
