I think we're going to have to go to the vets tomorrow - Dobey doesn't seem to be able to put any weight on one of his front paws. And of course he won't let me have a look at it. He's a difficult lad to get hold of so will need to wait for his dad to get home, late tonight.
Yep when he gets to the point where it's a bit more imminent than it seems right now, I'm going to get a chicken to roast and share with him, and let him have a go at some cheese, which he used to raid the fridge to get to.I recall being told Buttons was not long for this world and how we gave her all the foods sh’d pleaded for (but never got) - especially pigs-in-blankets - treated like royalty and quite rightly so
I appreciate that, and other similar sentiments that others have expressed, so much.Really wish I could post something more insightful, but I think you're being amazing Epona. Also, I'm so glad that you are getting this experience with him, if you know what I mean, a bit more gentle on the heart than it might be.
Ceiling cat is watching you clone cats
Everything, right now this instant. Not sure what she wants!

Hope Dobey and your other half both recover soon!Keep on keeping on, Epona and Jakey. x
Getting Dobey to the vet was a drama, as usual - my other half is covered in cuts and has a big lump on his head as a consequence of The Scenes. All I could hear from downstairs was all the furniture being shunted about.
Dobey, of course, minced about on all four paws at the vets but winced when he was having his toes inspected, so possible some kind of sprained wrist or paw. We have anti-inflammatory/painkilling liquid to try to get into him. Bring on the tuna!
Both cats currently hating us, flinching and cowering like we're monsters. but thank you for your good wishes.
High 5! We also had a big poo this morning, first in 3 daysAnd Feline Shitwatch can bring you fresh news that after 3 days a deposit has now been made.
Big relief for everyone concerned
One of the cats who boards with me has been on Atopica for years as he has a sore patch, about 1"X1", on his forehead where the fur no longer grows. His owners have spent a small fortune on tests at the vets to try and find out what's causing it but nothing conclusive has shown up although the Atopica definitely keeps it at bay. They buy theirs on prescription from Pet Drugs Online as even when you add in the £25 prescription fee from the vet it still works out cheaper as they can have 6 month's worth at a time.High 5! Ion, Jocky went back to the original vet today, and out of all the eye-wateringly expensive options, I chose a different medication, Atopica. Plan is to taper off the steroids whilst giving him this. Daily at first, then alternate days, then hopefully either his allergy to whatever (possible storage mites) will diminish such that we can slowly bring him off it, or he simply stays on a reduced dose. Thank fuck for insurance really, £350 this visit!!

The big book is a poetry book by a group of Rugby-based cafe writers which someone had left behind on a train last time I went up to Brum. On top of the pile is a National Book tokens gift card, and underneath that is a pack of cat jokes.Shes gonna phone up for fresh trout tea with prawns mm if thats a phonebook. Dont even know if thats a phonebook. Might be choosing her xmas presents out of a catologue mm
Ouch - in humans, that would be a case of “bitey shitey”Jakey only does hard nuggets these days rather than well formed logs, because all the fluid that goes into him basically goes straight through, but I got up earlier and found 4!!! sizeable nuggets next to his sleeping area, so I'm hopeful that the extra fluids he's getting have helped him clear the backlog, so to speak, without resorting to the "alarming list of side effects and banned in the US" medication that the vet gave us.
Sorry to have to tell you - 'tis a small - almost fully grown - rat !Here's a Ringo, looking like he's had an exhaustive day.

However when I went downstairs I discovered what he's been up to:
This is GOOD NEWS! I used to be that person who responded to the question "How does one get rid of mice?" with a facetious "Get cats, obvs". We've never had a problem with mice until Ringo came along. He started bringing in live mice and letting them go. They'd move into dishwasher, back of the fridge, and neglected cupboards. They didn't respond to humane traps, deadly traps, poison, or, erm FUCKING CATS!!!
I'm hoping now he's learned to kill them. Or he's found a cache of dead rodents.
Anyway, what is this one? A large mouse? A small rat? Fork for scale. Thanks!
I was suspecting that!Sorry to have to tell you - 'tis a small - almost fully grown - rat !
