Your daily cat and kitten news

OMG gorgeous! Looks like you found a cat under all the fur when she was given a trim :D Persian of some sort?
And he's got lovely classic tabby markings and what a facial expression on him! :D

The weeing outside the box is definitely sounding like a territorial/stress issue as you've already deduced, is there any way she can have a box in a very quiet place such as in a cupboard or under a kitchen counter?
It is a difficult one and I'm certainly no expert on resolving it, my Jakey's an utter horror and although he does wee in the box most of the time, I don't think I've ever convinced him to shit in one
Thanks - she’s part ridiculous, part hilarious and part hooligan - ‘tea cup’ Persian/calico and a teeny pocket rocket.

Always poos in a tray, just pees outside when either stressed or feeling the need to mark - we love her - our wooden floors not so much. Here she is in her Persian glory.

John is a BSH - our best boy having been in a pen and used for breeding all his life - no teeth, but the best attitude.

She came in yesterday afternoon with a big flap of skin hanging off her back leg  A quick trip to the Sunday vet, I am £600 lighter and she is high as a kite on some medical grade painkillers <3
Oh the poor baby, hope she heals quickly. Also, don't know if it's just me but she looks like she's wearing a bonnet. ❤️

Handsome! King of all he surveys.

Welcome to Urban btw.
Thank you!

I have 5 cats in total but I think it's going to be 6 soon as a young tabby tom has started coming for food. I think he's come from a farm as he's very nervous and I have to move away after I've put his food down but he's getting a bit more confident every day. I've told him there's a home here for him if he wants it but I haven't told him yet that he'll have to be de-nutted if he wants to join the family!

All hail the bollock fairy, hope she leaves a coin under his pillow once they're off :D

I just want to add, my Jakey is an ex-stud, he was never kept in a pen or used for anything - he was mated once to continue the line (which includes the first ever GCCF Fawn Point Siamese Champion and various other descendants in future generations) then was neutered and rehomed with me on his 1st birthday, he's had an awesome life tbh :)
There are accidental didn't get them neutered breeders and then there are try to make a bit of money farm type breeders, and then there are ethical breeders. And the latter should be how pet cats come about.

I was with you until you said "then was neutered" My own balls have retracted internally at the very thought.

😱

we are used to calling a spayed a spayed round these parts...
I've had numerous cats over the years as I use to be involved in rescue work and all of them except one were neutered.
The one who escaped the chop was probably quite old when he started coming to our garden for food but was semi-feral and we couldn't get near him. He became known as Uncle Jim and bit by bit he started to trust us and eventually moved into the house just as winter was setting in. Despite being a full tom, he didn't smell at all, never sprayed in the house and wasn't in any way aggressive towards the other cats so we told him he could keep his balls, just as long as he didn't intend to use them!

And in the darkest corner, amongst the pile old socks and pants I was going to throw out, I find this:

Sgarba has also started doing that thing where she walks up to Diùra and puts her throat over the back of her neck. Think that's more bonding sign?

Diùra has just come out of the dark and done the same to my arm. :)

Yes to mouse and rat killing
No to shrew murder 😣
One of my cats is in the habit of bringing home live squirrels. I see him coming across the field with one in his mouth, carrying it like a mother cat carries a kitten and he'd bring it into the house given half a chance but stuffing a squirrel through the cat flap without letting it go isn't easy. I usually manage to distract him with some dreamies and he drops it and it skuttles away.
