Your daily cat and kitten news

Sweet pub cat went home with the pub manager at the end of last year. I posted here about it, I was a bit upset thinking I might never see her again.

Well today we stopped in for a pint on the way back from the charity shop, I was at the bar buying drinks and saw something move out of the corner of my eye - I looked round - I saw her and she saw me - she let out a massive miaow, I said "Oh hello sweetheart!" and she ran towards me with her tail up in that happy cat saying hello way, miaowing a couple more times on her way over, then came and sat on my lap for the next hour purring and mixing puddings and dribbling all over me - we were so happy to see one another! She so obviously remembered me as someone she liked, even though it's been months.

Shat meself this morning. Jocky slunk past us last night when we were going to bed and shot out of the catflap. We like to keep him in at night, Cat Protection advise it cos they get dazzled by car headlights and that's how so many get killed, but he legged it last night, so we left him out. Came down this morning and normally he's all HI MUUUM, and he wasn't in!! Me legs went to jelly! Checked his food bowl, that had been eaten, so checked outside and he was just strolling back in, all nonchalant. Left him sleeping it off on the couch, the dirty stop out.
I had a couple of cats years ago with a bf. Claudia went awol didn't come back one night, her and her brother were still very young. Me and the bf walked up and down the street looking for her, calling her name, no joy. We were really worried.

The next morning, we went out the front door to look for her a bit before we had to go to work. Saw the postman walking up the street towards our with Claudia a few paces behind him. When we exclaimed Claudia and explained she'd been a dirty stop-out for the first time and we'd been worried sick, iirc postman said he she came out of another house/he thought she lived at another house. She probably had a cat friend who she was visiting. Or maybe some human friends who she was milking for (even) more treats.

But yeah, Claudia was totally blasé too, just trotting up the street without a care in the world while me and my then-bf had been frantic with worry.
