He looked in a playful mood earlier, so I bent down and started rubbing the carpet. He immediately went into stealth mode, crouching down and half hiding behind the open door. As expected he suddenly sprang to attack, but I know him so well, with his complete lack of aggression, that when he reached my hand a split second later he'd just give it a gentle clawless pat.

My old cat would've attached herself to my wrist, with all four sets of claws and her teeth.

These are meant to be much more effective than bells for cutting down on bird deaths. I don't know if it's that they're more visible to birds or that the cats lose all self confidence and it inhibits their hunting abilities.

Ken has a deformed pad on his front left paw and it sometimes gets sore. He's been really suffering for the last 24 hours, it's been heartbreaking to see him unable to put it down. We were at the vet as luck would have it today for their annual jabs but they couldn't see anything wrong. Got some painkillers and let him sleep on the bed last night as a treat (my husband usually objects).

They were both very loud and angry at the vet

If I lean lean forward to grab something from the coffee table, I'm almost guaranteed to squash a cat when I lean back. Same when I open a door to somewhere I don't want them to be, the little fuckers would sneak through the weave of your jeans.
