*yes, the bastard rats are back - in the yard AND in the bathroom crawlspace that we paid to have secured. Fuck knows how they've managed to get back in, every possible opening has been sealed  :mad: Anyway, Jocky is having a great time hunting the fuckers, and I decided to let him out at night after all, cos he'll be mostly busy with them rather than venturing further onto roads.

If he's anything like Lilith, he'll be bringing them back to give you as gifts! Or bring them back alive to torture.

It's :( for you, but a house/yard full of rodents is the best gift you can give a cat (just looking on the bright side).

Mind you I say that but I hate it when we get mice, even though I am still ridiculously proud of Jakey the Brave Hunter for the time he caught 7 in less than 48 hours.

He should get an entry in the Guiness Book of Records!

Oh well yes, he is having himself a grand old time, is proper made up with himself 😅 I'm fucked off because I paid £120 to get every single ingress point sealed, and they STILL got in!

We have created a monster with giving Vastra more soft food because now she YELLS every time we get a container of it out until it's in her bowl. gsv reckons it's because she is worried we're going to eat it, eg

Vastra: MAOW! [translate: DON'T EAT MY FOOD!]
Us: We're not going to eat your food
Vastra: MAOW! [DON'T EAT MY FOOD!]
Us: We're not going to eat your food
Vastra: MAOW! [DON'T EAT MY FOOD!]
Us: We're not going to eat your food
Vastra: MAOW! [DON'T EAT MY FOOD!]
Us: We're not going to eat your food

Repeat until food in bowl

Sure it's not GIVE IT TO ME NOWWW!?
that's what I reckon Kizzy is saying when I get the food out

I love an affectionate cat. Jocky is being super-affectionate with me lately, he has to snuggle in as close as he can get and gives me head bumps every day.
There's the thing. He's not affectionate at any other times. He's quite indifferent really.
He has more time for me than he does everyone else. But he does love this morning and night time thing.

Cat has just arrived on the bed. He’s positioned himself with his back legs on either side of my forearm. He is hugging me with his rear end. And purring, with his head as far away as he can manage.

It does mean that I can hold the end of his tail and play with the tip, which is something he tolerates.

Have had 3 cats.
Radar was incredibly intelligent, could climb like a monkey, very agile and athletic and nothing was out of reach, very overexciteable, seemed to have a very active and occasionally painful (to us) sense of humour.
Sonic was intelligent but less devious/mischievous, very intense - he would put every ounce of concentration and effort into one game of fetch for example. Absolutely adored me and viewed me as his territory.
Jakey is daft as a brush, has regularly given us the fear watching him try to make a leap (and frequently misses, falls off the edge of the sofa etc., his balance is not what one might expect in a feline - when he used to try to copy the others to go and sit on top of the sitting room door, one of us would charge across the room to shut the door because it was a disaster waiting to happen), sweetest cat in the entire universe although not entirely sure what universe he is in, loves everyone. (A lot of that possibly due to slight birth anoxia).
