I read the bottom half first and knew exactly who it was going to be.OK, this MP is an idiot, but I couldn't help being amused by the journalist's name...

May he stay happy and comfortable for a long time to come.Just had a call from the vet about Jakey's urinalysis results - not so good, showing a lot more protein in his urine.
It's not unexpected but still not what you want to hear really.
As he is happy and has energy at the moment we're going to leave him be for the time being, we have an option to try subcutaneous fluids (which acts kind of like kitty dialysis) at home if/when he declines further, we'll have to weigh up whether that would be in his best interests of course (although he is very easy to handle and easy-going so he might be ok with it, I'd be amenable to giving it a go at least once and making a decision based on how that goes).
So yeah, another check-up in a few weeks, phone the vet if he starts to decline before then, monitor his condition and welfare/happiness in the meantime.
So jealous polly, they wuv each other so much <3 unlike my dysfunctional pair who pointedly ignore each other 99% of the time.

Oh I hope for the sake of you both he takes to it okay. My old boy, sweet as could be normally, just growled through the whole process and we gave up after a few months. But he went on being perfectly contented for several years after that, if you can believe it! Sometimes these things do just level off at a new normal and you're blessed with all that extra time with them.Just had a call from the vet about Jakey's urinalysis results - not so good, showing a lot more protein in his urine.

They're still quite young aren't they May? They might yet start to appreciate each other and end up good friends. I've seen that happen before. So jealous polly, they wuv each other so much <3 unlike my dysfunctional pair who pointedly ignore each other 99% of the time.
