Your daily cat and kitten news

In a bit of luck one of the spots most torn up is the bit of my leg that has nerve damage so us numb.

Edited to add.

I've always known intellectually why it would be a terrible idea to get close to a big cat but today's incident makes me have a much deeper understanding of why I don't want to be anywhere near a big cat if it decides to flip out.

Crikey 😳
I hope you'll be ok Shippou-Sensei

Is there any way you had some thing on that smelled different and freaked the cat out? Aftershave or spray of any sort?

Wear denim if possible. It's thick and will offer some protection.

Nope. Don't wear sprays or scents.
It also happened to my parents but in those cases it wasn't as bad. Also they had clothes on to help. I was foolish enough to battle the cat in my underwear.

Shippou-Sensei my cats both go a bit mad and bitey if they smell bleach but they have to be fairly close up. Their claws fucking hurt but it's definitely their teeth you have to be extra weary of as epona says. Keep a really good eye on the bites as those will be high risk for infection, much more than the scratches as they will be deep.

Hope Marvin is calmer and sorts his shit out soon!

The pub cat Tilly got run over and died yesterday 😢

She had only just started being a proper pub cat and coming in the pub rather than just living upstairs and seeing her in the garden.

She was a tiny tiny cat, proper looked like a 6 month old kitten even though she was 3. An excellent mouser and knew her own mind.

Rip Tilly.

Oh no, poor wee love.
Condolences to everyone who loved Tilly.
Rest in peace little cat.

Sorry to hear about Tilly, that's far too young. Rest in purrs baby.

Managed the arduous task of flea treating them today. Viv was no trouble, as always, but Donut was the worst he's ever been. It's almost impossible for us to flea treat him because he's big and strong and hates being interfered with, so the minute you even open the droplet stuff he's out the door, and if you try to hold him still he goes mad and attacks you. Mr K has to hold him while I burrow through his ridiculous fur to find some skin, all while he's writhing around biting and scratching and hissing. Stressful for everyone.

Even gentle Jakey hates the flea drops, I've often wondered whether it burns or hurts a bit tbh.

I think I dodged the infection bullet in most of my wounds. Keeping an eye on the deepest bit as it's still a bit dark.

I mean I'm not a medical professional and keep a close eye on it - but that doesn't look too terrible. They don't all get infected, Radar bit me on the bum once and it was sore so I couldn't sit down for a day, but it didn't get any worse.
If you get a lot of swelling, pain, if the area feels hot, fever, headache, nausea etc. then seek urgent medical attention.

Poor pusscat and all of you x

My two have fleas and the Frontline doesn't seem to have worked  I am so careful to apply it properly so I don't think it's that. I don't know what to do - poor Ryu is really suffering and so are my kids. I've treated the house too. Might call the vet for some advice?
