WTF? Girl in China Run Over and ignored

Erm...

Don't be stupid.

It has been reported that 2 trucks ran over her. Where is the video footage of that? Why was the CCTV footage released anyway? Could you honestly state in court that you saw a women drag a 2 year old girl off the street from what you have seen? The words have made the images in your mind.

It's contemporary propoganda. It's bollocks.

Well if you can't see anything, how do you know she didn't drag a dog off the road eh?

There's definitely video of it, they're not so squeamish about showing gruesome stuff here (same with the bodies of the Chinese fishermen murdered in Thailand recently), but I didn't watch. Not sure why you think it's made up, Stanley. The basic facts of the incident are not much in doubt, though of course you can argue about what it all means, as people are doing here.

He refuses to believe the guy that ran that marathon is 100-years-old as well as there's no proof.

Stanley likes proof

This is the story in Chinese about Chen Xianmei wanting to give her 25,000 reward to the little girl: http://news.163.com/11/1018/04/7GKF17BD00014AED.html

Core Tip: to save the lady Foshan, Guangdong, Chen Xian Mei, award of different departments were about 2.5 million, she said it would have been rolling the money given to female Tongxiao Yue Yue. 18 "cold" three people have been coming out pedestrians, two of them insisted that the children did not see one person expressed regret guilt. In addition, the driver said that the damage is small Yue Yue regret the incident, saying sorry for the child's family.

:hmm:

As a translator, I always enjoy how shit Google Translate still is for Chinese.

Fuck's sake Stanley Edwards.

Here you go

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQRvtf72Jog

The first vehicle slows down and then pushes on to run the baby over with the rear wheels. Second vehicle only runs over her feet.

It also shows the people walking past, swerving to avoid her, and a mother leading her child past. Eventually the recycling woman stops and pulls the child clear.

Unless the whole thing is a put up, it looks pretty real to me.

It is absolute bollocks.

Why was the CCTV camera there?

What was the CCTV camera looking for?

Why does the footage go blurred?

CCTV is everywhere.

Why would China deliberately set out to make themselves look bad?

Reason out your argument, Stanley Edwards. Convince me of your argument.

FFS Stanley, if you look at the clip I posted of a news programme, they don't blur anything and highlight the girl etc. Do you think the Chinese state broadcaster is making it up as part of a campaign for better public morals or something?

CCTV is everywhere.

Why would China deliberately set out to make themselves look bad?...

'They' wouldn't.

It is totally fabricated bullshit. Two actors in scene, passers by looking out for cameras. It's like Jeremy Beadle does China.

It's shit, ugly and untrue.

Then hired a cast of witnesses, a hospital ward with staff and the government of Foshan for all the follow-up reporting. Get a grip

I guess we all want to believe what we want to believe.

Nothing I've seen (or, read) would stand up as evidence in court. Video games are more convincing these days.

Show me the follow up reporting then.

A cast of witnesses? Why? They have apparently random CCTV footage.

Do you not believe ANYTHING has happened unless you were there to see it in person?

I linked one story in a previous comment, about the woman who saved her getting a reward. Here's a couple more, in Chinese. This is the girl's mother saying she could forgive the drivers if the genuinely didn't see the kid: http://news.163.com/11/1018/04/7GKF0AS100014AED.html

This is one on how the girl is doing in hospital: http://news.163.com/11/1018/08/7GKQL84I00014AED.html

This stuff gets into Western papers after it's been in the Chinese press/telly, as mostly they just pick up local news rather than do actual reporting. It really has been all over every media here for days and been widely discussed. And Chinese peope are even more cynical about fake news than Westerners, so no chance it's fake, and not the sort of thing they would fake.

I don't believe this shit. I don't believe much of what I see first hand.

I can't believe that so many of you are so prepared to believe this is true. It's bollocks.

Coincidently we have a CCTV camera set-up watching nothing worthwhile when a young girl (who's mum is just a short walk away) gets runover. Accidently the CCTV footage is released on the web. That's not even the deal in China. The web footage is a bit blurred at critical times. The passers by probably have better perceptions of events and see that it's actually bollocks.

This is so crap, it is worrying.

Stan, please provide evidence for your assertion.

@ JimW - Can you access Sina Weibo, and give us a summary of what's been said / deduced etc there? Any recent developments?

It didn't fucking well happen you idiot.
