Would you report people to the police for for breaking the conditions of the Covid 19 lockdown

Would you report individuals or groups to the police just for violating the rules of the lockdown?

I'm reading the same post. scifisam will get it, even if neurotypical people don't.

No, I honestly don't get it. But whatever. I'm not going to respond to this tangent again.

(Just to put the record straight, I don't have a diagnosis of any sort. Not sure why that would be relevant anyway.)

Joggers, the new cyclists! :)

seriously though, the least considerate people I've encountered on my state approved short walks have indeed been joggers.

FFS, there's another thread for having a go at joggers:

As a "jogger" (I prefer the word runner) I am entitled to run, so I do have an sense of entitlement. :p

No point, even if you were so inclined. A bunch of reasons...

The law as it stands is lax. The consequences of breaking even what restrictions can be enforced is potentially very serious but in each instance indirect and intangible; you can't be sure what risk people are actually exposing other people to. There's little that I can personally observe that isn't self-evident to anyone else. Finally, the likely response is none, and the likely consequences of that is just to stress you out about your impotence, so it's a pretty bad idea for your mental health, as is silently raging at the same.

All that said, what these discussions usually come down to is something political about the role of the police in relation to people that in some way or other don't deserve the treatment that would be forthcoming. My opinion about that varies but this case I don't have a lot of sympathy for people flouting the rules. In many ways, albeit perhaps not immutably, they're the enemy. If you want something better from societal organising then these are the people whose self-interest stands in the way of it.

I'd certainly consider reporting these twats

I have an image in my head of a brawl that respected social distancing, it would be a joy to watch as harsh language and cutting insults were flung amongst the group.

Not really sure what you're on about here but to take it back to the start you said

Which was a very general comment. I disagreed with your sentiment but don't wish ill on you because of it.

To take things to an extreme (as that seems to be where you want to go) there are people out there who have done some terrible things, terrible crimes who think their actions were OK. In that regard I would disagree with them and if their actions were beyond the pale I would likely hope they get there comeuppance. If I was having an intense debate with someone as to where you draw the line in taxonomy between what constitutes a duck and what constitutes a goose I probably wouldn't wish ill on that person even though we disagreed.

It depends, you see.
No you only demonstrated that it is never OK

Evolution of government policy:
  1. Business as usual, herd immunity
  2. Don't shake hands (unless you want to, then it's OK)
  3. Think about not going out as much
  4. Don't go out except to shop, oh, and exercise, yeah and work if your boss says so; that includes on building sites
  5. + various interpretations of the above depending on which government minister is talking.
Add in the fact that www.gov.uk and www.nhs.uk don't give the same advice on some stuff even now. Police forces are just making stuff up as they go along, partly because guidance from central government is so shit.

The result is many people are confused or have little respect for the rules because the authorities appear to be making it up as they go along. This means that, except in certain clear-cut cases, many fines and orders to go home under threat of arrest amount to summary justice. For that reason, I will not report people, except in those clear cut cases, which I have not so far witnessed.

No it didn't and yes you did. You felt the need for attention, so you completely misrepresented someone's post, to suggest they said something that everybody knows they didn't say.
So this like so many "forums" is a place where a few mouthy gits rule the roost and anyone who dares to disagree or say anything "they" don't approve of comes under increasingly hostile ad hominem attacks until they get bored and leave?
