Could do with that in Bristol. They are planning to close a couple of footbridge for months, for repairs. Ukraine has a road bridge bombed, they’re still in a war and yet they’ve replaced it. where is in Bristol apparently it takes nine months to fix a footbridge.

Ha true. Apparently you can see the old steps down to what was the ferry point at low tides (Jailferry bridge. I'd be OK with a zip wire til itx fixed.

There used to be on in Exeter from the city centre across the river - think it was on some kind of chain thing across. Don't know if it's still there - we went on it when we were kids.

There's been one on the Thames, near Shepperton, for hundreds of years.
You ring a bell on one side and within 15 mins a rowing boat arrives to take you across.

Last used it about 10 years ago, assume its still going.

There's a ferry operating across the river Stour from Wick village to Christchurch, Dorset too, been on that a few times over the years.
