Could do with that in Bristol. They are planning to close a couple of footbridge for months, for repairs. Ukraine has a road bridge bombed, they’re still in a war and yet they’ve replaced it. where is in Bristol apparently it takes nine months to fix a footbridge.

You'd have to slide down the muddy river bank to get to the boat on one side, and clamber up it the other 🤣

Ha true. Apparently you can see the old steps down to what was the ferry point at low tides (Jailferry bridge. I'd be OK with a zip wire til itx fixed. :D
 
There used to be on in Exeter from the city centre across the river - think it was on some kind of chain thing across. Don't know if it's still there - we went on it when we were kids.
