Will you Make Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday?

Do Scots drop pancakes count?
For teatime
I'll also go for crepes later, rolled with fillings.
For dinner.

tins of tuna were ridiculously cheap in Lidl today -so I've been busy in my kitchen making a tuna pancake pie. I was going to have sweet pancakes too, but I ran out of pancake mixture so I'm just going to have ice cream (caramel brownie flavour) on its own with maple syrup poured over for dessert

We've just had savoury 'pancakes' or crepes. Filled with salmon and veggies in a white sauce. The coop were selling 8 for £1. I can't be bothered making the damn things. I did make the white sauce from scratch :) The cat didn't bother having any crepe or veggies.

I'm eating spiral, flourescent yellow licorice style candy instead.

Sort of looks like a small pancake with lemon. Sort of.

I had got away with b/f not knowing it was today until his sister rang and asked him if I'd made any :mad:

He still ain't getting any:D

I made pancakes with a friend earlier and we had

- Jalapeno cheese, salami and Tabasco
- Blueberry, lemon and sugar (blueberries put in at the same time as the batter- they went all hot and squishy and nommy)
- Banana and Nutella

i had two cheese, red pepper, tomato and spring onion ones. and am currently trying to find space for a lemon and sugar one - so want one! - but feel prematurely full! :-\

edit!! and a lemon and sugar one. yum, yum.

Well what do you expect eme, it's The War! Oh no, no.. ....I mean, it's Pancake Day!

I'm quite impressed that they ran out of flour, tbf! :D

I had one ragu and cheddar, one banana, maple syrup and squirty cream and one lemon and sugar. And everyone else had a whole lot more.

Fucking hell though, I forgot how complicated something relatively simple could be!
Had lemon segments and sticky sugar patches and batter and splodges of bolognese and stuff all over the kitchen by the time I'd done!

We had them. I had 2 with nutella, my friend had one with ice cream, partners son one with chocolate sauce and my partner had 3 with everything I think.

He is using the rest of the batter for a savoury mushroom breakfast affair. For some reason partners son gets tummy ache from pancakes hence only eating one. None of the ingredients affect him in any other dish (milk, eggs, plain flour).

I had a go but was lead astray by a bloody rich Delia Smith recipe.

That's the one I use! :hmm: The BEST one!

They're not significantly richer than a normal pancake batter (2 tbs melted butter in the whole batter mix) unless you're making them very thick?! :hmm:

A small half ladle-full and a good spin/shake to cover the pan - PERFECT!
