I've fried bacon with a Use By date of the 21st September. It's now crispy as fuck and I've applied a medical amount of English mustard. That should be set me right.

I mean, the 21st’s only 2 days ago, and it’s bacon. Bacon is a method of preserving meat. If it looks ok and smells ok it will be ok. I don’t think it’s worth paying attention to use by dates on things like bacon. Is it green? If not, you’re good to go.

It would smell bad if it was off, bacon is pretty resilient - it is cured after all.
