or just stick it the height and length of the breeze blocks?

yeah, stick it up against the breeze blocks, tuck it up under the ivy so it hopefully makes the boundary fade back and dissapear with the plants and pond in front. if that makes sense?

which breeze blocks do you mean? I mean the wall behind the pond.. put up a screen fence of bamboo or reed or something hard against the wall instead of painting it to make it look more natural. would simply bury the base in the ground and the top might need a couple of fixing screws but would probably just tuck under the ivy and hold there

One thing I will be doing is putting some bird boxes on the back of the house, I already have a blue tit box and want to get one for starlings and sparrows too. I also have a robin box to put somewhere else in the garden, probably somewhere near the ivy.

Today I'm getting some lengths of sleepers, a freebie, and am going to make a little bench out of them to sit in front of the pond. They are really nice old ones, full of character and well weathered so won't leak any nasties

Well, it's coffee break time

Cut one sleeper in half

Put another on top

Just gotta get some 6inch nails, cut the head off and sledge hammer them together to fix. I might cut another sleeper to make it a little higher but I quite like it as it is, nice height for kids too


Am having a break, not from that but from carrying a ton of rock from the front of my house through to the back
