Wildlife Ponds... Now Total Garden Rebuild

Garden

Been out taking pics, and I want a pond. I had a tough time a few years back and my garden was my saving grace. I poured my heart and soul into it, as well as a lot of me physically. Your pics and motivation is inspiring. Thanks :)

Oh the reason I finally had the urge to finally post something on here rather than nosing, was cos I'm on a dating site, Plenty of Fish, and like hearing about others.

Pond is dug, thank god for that, was hard hard work. Fingers crossed all goes well with shopping for liner and pump/filter at the weekend. Then hopefully on Sunday it should be full :D

Fucking excellent, Mumbles - can't wait to see it all done (and THEN you get to watch stuff GROW too - a fucking marvellous pastime)! WELL DONE, you!

(I'm another fairly recent convert to gardening who enjoys the early morning cups of tea/evening glasses of wine/beer for immediately after the work's done :D - very recently my tenancy looked as though it might be under threat and if it had been I wouldn't have been able to afford another three bed with a garden, but I was actually looking for a two bed WITH a garden - sacrificing a bedroom of my own* just to keep an outdoor space cos I fucking love it SO MUCH! I know you're not *new* to it yourself but I am positive you'll get the same massive amounts of ongoing pleasure from it with all the hard work you've put into it.... )

*Having said that, thank FUCK I do get to keep my own bedroom too after all, lol - would've been a bit of a nightmare, tbh! :D

Ah! Must be the ex! My ex did this too for a short time. It was VERY WEIRD!
Best to keep your own spaces I reckon, whatever the story. Plenty of space on the internet for everyone. :)

Lovely work - can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Sheo, I keep briefly considering moving to a one-bedroom place with a garden, but I'll have to make do with extravagant window-boxes for now.

A friend of mine has a decent-sized garden that she's allowed to be so overgrown that it's like sleeping beauty's in the house somewhere.

What a waste, eh! It drives me nuts! :(

Tbf - we should ALL be allowed gardens - and let em get as overgrown as we like :D - but it makes me sad when people who would really enjoy them, can't have em!

Hello!!!!

Did you miss me? Did you think I'd stopped work on the garden, of course not!!!!

I won't bore you with shots of the underlay or liner or the pond being filled and will cut to the result

Fatsia!!!! :D :D

WOW at your pond. Just wow!

It's such a transformation in so short a space of time :)
I'm truly impressed, Mumbles. Well done!

:D ta

I still can't quite believe what I've done when I look out there

Lots to do now to get it all looking lovely but all the horrid digging is done HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D

Ace! I love the frogs slope too!

Mumbles - are you gonna paint the breeze block white to go with the rest of the wall? :hmm: SAY YES! :p

Betcha can't wait to start planting! :D

That is so cool - and you've managed to get it done in such a short time. I hope you're going to let yourself relax and enjoy your new pond and garden. :)

Looking good Mumbles and a plant!

I've just been looking at elephant ears (and fatsia!). You going to get some elephant ears?

Thanks :)

Well, I had thought about a natural cane screen against the wall, but failing that would paint it yes.

Elephant ears?, er not sure think my mum might have got me some of them
