You too can find a new use for your gran's gaudy old curtains.

Cameron has said she was unable to find “high quality” factories in Britain. “We produce in the region where the fabric comes from, for sustainability reasons.” Tailoring is made in Portugal, silk pieces in China, and cotton in India.
Lol I take it back, of course the patriotic wife of a patriotic Tory former PM would be buying all her stuff in China and India. I hope no-one from the £5.8bn domestic textiles industry is reading that.

"working-age claimants [landlords] in rented accommodation have been the main beneficiaries. Because of higher rents in London and the south-east, and increased support for private renters, UC will eventually lead to a £2.1bn transfer in benefit entitlement towards these areas – a shift that flies in the face of commitments to reduce regional inequality."

There, fixed that for you, Guardian.

It's not the benefits claimants who've been the main beneficiaries, ffs, it's the landlords! Because the cost of living element is the same all around the country, is just changes depending on size of household and whether they have any supplements for children (max two) or disabilities, etc. The main variation, the reason some claimants will receive more, is it a their housing costs, but in the very vast majority of cases that goes into the claimants' accounts and then straight out again into their landlords' accounts, so the benefit claimants are no better off, they don't have more disposable income.

Only a passing mention of far-right connections in a longish piece on the Azov brigade, and it doesn't come until about 15 paragraphs in

In the woods around Lyman there is a different perspective, however. While a handful of brigades have struggled in the latest phase of fighting, Azov says it has defeated the Russian attackers in the Serebryansky forest. The 5,000-plus strong brigade has shed any far-right associations, relentlessly emphasised in Russian pre-invasion propaganda, and is one of the military’s elite forces, comprised entirely of volunteers. Members say there is a waiting list for recruits, allowing it to pick and chose.

I feel for their trauma, honestly I do, but this is the most pretentious, badly written load of shite I've clapped eyes on in years.

How often do you read the guardian?

I was more referring to that specific piece standing out amongst all the other pretentious bollocks in the Graun, but yes, that too.

Yes posted that in Ukraine forum. Really sycophantic piece.

"I enjoy a wonderful lifestyle, access to superb culture, and I get to meet incredible people from all over the world. I particularly appreciate having access to the most forward-thinking professionals in impact investing and strategic philanthropy. My family benefits from a full life, access to healthcare that’s free at the point of use, great public transport (in London at least!) and so much more. Paying more in tax for all this is not something that concerns me – nor does it concern the wealthy people I know."

At no point in that article does it state how she became non-domiciled. It would be nice for some context.
