My ticket arrived this morning. :)

Not sure what to do about a hat though. Might have to get one when I get there I think.

Tickets ordered!!!! Woo hoo.

Cheers to Dub and gorgeous Pieface and Sparklefish for offering to loan the dosh, but got some now and rather than spend it on mortgages and bills and looking after our darling daughter, we have squandered it on a weekend of debauchery.

Has the camping area got any particular landmarks or geographical features that one can aim toward in pitching one's tent?

Seriously, it's mahooosive. I am a tad worried it's too big, come and have a look later if you want. I might have a party in it. I am definitely sleeping in it tonight.

No problem ... ;)

No.. that's your hat now. I'm going to get a different one.

It looked much better on you anyway. :)

I've looked for hats in Brixton, but I can't find any nice ones.. I think there's a hat drought on this year to be honest. I hate shopping, so I'd rather wait until I chance upon the right one than go looking iykwim....

Did anyone have any tips on how to get there by public transport? The description that comes with the tickets seems to only mention journeys by car?

We'll be coming from the south of dorset at the end of the week; off to go camping there tomorrow afternoon so any advice on a postcard (i.e. on this thread)quick, please, did somebody mention the sixpenny something or other bus? Help! :)

Whereabouts in Dorset are you coming from zora?

I had so decided to bugger the overdraft and get tickets but my cat has got a nasty skin infection again which from experience costs the price of a festival ticket:( have a lovely time:)

I couldn't enjoy myself knowing I had a bald cat at home chewing her fur off:( Unless i could also afford drugs;)

>>cyber

Some 'people I know' :p who just might be at this festie, might just possibly have some cheap rugs ... <whistles innocently>

Green coloured 'rugs' only, I suspect, knowing 'them' ;)

Oooh I was only thinking the other day that I could do with a nice green rug. I do hope we get to meet up with your friends William :D

Just seen the week ahead's forecast on Countryfile (BBC1, Sunday, 11:30 with the forecast at 11:45 -- excellent programme).

Looking dry and pretty pleasant in the SW for the end of the week -- some nice sunshine, with temps around 21C to 23C -- not hot, but if the sun's out, that won't matter!

23 and sunny is perfect. I prefer it not to be roasting at festivals.

Do you think there will be a range of 'rugs' and other furnishings available?

Other than the particular collour of carpet I mentioned (and who knows! These 'friends' may or may nor have any spare ones ;) ) I wouldn't know! ;)

Update on weather : uk.weather.com for Blandford Forum (10 miles away) shows reasonably sunny, but now distinctly breezy/chilly -- 18C/19C is RUBBISH** for mid-late August ....

**OK, average, but we've been so used to well above average for so long ... :(

BBC 5-dayer for Blandford (up to Friday so far) looks similar .... marginally warmer ....

Still, no rain indicated!

Still musing on the possibilities of cooking curry...

I could actually do it with not much bother. However it would be a question of how many actually wanted to eat it! It isn't much problem to chuck the camp cooker and some basic ingredients in the car.

However it is even less effort to not bother at all - especially if no-one is that fussed.

..or make it a few nights before and stick it the freezer. It'll give the eggs a bit of a chance to mature. :)

I'm planning on simple cooking.. Though I think pancakes are a goer this year.
