No... I know this is a bit rubbish.. but I feel bad about abandoning gaijinboy for the whole weekend (not to mention that I'll miss him).. which is a bit odd, cos I do regularly abandon him for weekends/weeks whatever.... I think it's 'cos I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, so I'm feeling tired, and when I get tired I get a bit emotional and soppy and pathetic... :D I figure I may as well have a nice date night with him tonight, get a good nights sleep and come down tomorrow morning feeling all happy and sparkly rather than slinking down today feeling a bit blah...

Aaah, that's understandable. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow then. And crustychick too.

Oi... :D wotcha trying to say you??

(actually I did check he hadn't organised some massive beer and chess orgy to celebrate my absence first...:D )

I'm back...

and wonderful time it was too. Great meeting some urbs and apologies and regrets for missing some too.

Chicken Shed Zeppelin were great Hollis, but we ended up seeing them, hearing them (as we camped right next to Henrys cafe where they played midnight til two) and then avoiding them this lunch time by accident :D But it twernt torture so all cool.

Signing off for a while as typing is a little harder than I thought it was going to be  ;)

That's why I waited til this morning. Fab weekend, but as madamv said didn't actually meet many urbanites.

Good to meet ed, eme and zora though.

Juke Joint went really well on the friday night, I didn't really see much of the sat night as I went back to my tent for a nap and didn't wake up again.

Never do the sensible thing...

 So I finally managed to drag myself away yesterday afternoon - the logic being I really needed to get back to London, get an early night so I can do some work today.

So after quite a long cycle ride to Salisbury train station, the train journey which should have taken 1h51 minutes took 6 hours!!!

To be fair there was some kind of flash flooding which meant that our train got stuck unable to move either forwards or backwards - so we were all stranded for 2 hours on the train with no food/drink etc. Then we got buses from Basingstoke to Woking (which was fun with my fully laden and panniered up bike). Then eventually a train from Woking to London. And after all this 5 hours later - and I was shattered... they never told us until we were actually on the train that if we wanted to get off at Clapham Junction we had to be in the first 5 carriages - which was no help to me with my bulky bike in carriage 10. So after all that I still didn't get to my destination. Got home at 1am in the end after leaving the festival at about 4:30. :(

Really really gutted, I may as well have just stayed there and enjoyed another night.

The festie was brilliant - one of the best.

Great location, great bands, just the right amount of people and <gasp!> barely a ket head or dodgy dealer geeeezer to be seen anywhere.

And I never thought I'd say it, but RDF were brilliant too!

Photos and a more lucid report to come just as soon the drugs have worn off.

if i only remember one thing about this festival (which is likely ;) ) it'll be nearly snorting somebody's brother :D

(story later ;) )

Went down just for the day on Saturday with family Chintz, as has been said it was great and just the right size. Good to meet my first Urbanites(Dub and The Ed.) all be it very briefly.

i had an absolutely fantastic time and can't sing Endorse It's praises enough. The Pronghorn lot are fucking genius for organising this and getting it all just right.

Photos / proper write-up soon

Was excellent. No queues, no trouble, no attitude. A small and perfectly formed little festival. It was big enough to find something to watch, and small enough to nip to the tent to get something.

Was good to meet so many folks, Aurora Green, Zenie, Biddlybee, Citydreams, Editor, Eme, Crustychick, Dubversion, and certainly not least Pieye. Also very nice to meet and natter to Lizzieloo on a number of occasions.

I felt fine when driving back this morning... but I am having trouble thinking and typing, so will post later.

Me and that dog were lovers briefly. Although the man forcing us to couple was a bit drunk and overenthusiastic, so I suffered for my pleasure.

I'm keeping your poop in a jar...

That was such a nice little festival ;) So friendly and small and lots of children behaving like maniacs and lots of crusties behaving like children.

I took 3 dresses and wore them all, I didn't spend the whole weekend in the stuff I arrived in and I made tea and eggs and pringles.

I saw just about every hillbilly band in the country - and I finally met a skateboarder old enough to touch intimately without getting arrested, a stranger made me cry with bits of his mate Steve and a little dog on wheels humped my leg.

I didn't have a clue about RDF at all so that was interesting (hooray :D  :()and I'd forgotten how annoying that woman in Senser's wailing is.

There was this bloke in the crowd for RDF with a bag of powder and he opened it and offered it to Dub who obviously thought it was drugs of some kind until he noticed it was grey and a bit chunky. It was this guy's mate who had bought a ticket to see RDF and died before the festival. His friend brought him along to scatter during the gig and was getting people to do it.

A moving idea really - which sort of got to me after I'd scattered some and thought about what it was that I'd done.

I'm not sure how close Dub got to actually necking some Steve

I had a wicked time, the festival was cool, nice people.

Met some really cool people from Bristol - Dont remember meeting ANY urbs though.

The little pikey bitch that punched me in the nose for telling her to shut up when she was intimidating a female friend of mine needed sorting out, stupid little idiot causing trouble constantly with people and generally making a twat of herself :(

We were just remarking this morning that we saw no sign of any trouble at all throughout the festival .... I think any bothersome people were in an extreme minority.

As far as I saw, everyone was really friendly! :)

Had a great time in every possible way. Great festival, one of the best, may very well be back next year ... they need to get the Tanglefoot in the beer tent back up to full local standard, but the First Gold (also from Hall and Woodhouse) was great ....

Here and Now are very definitely not dead contrary to my earlier belief, I found the surprisingly good actually ..

Other highlights out of many for me were Pronghorn, the Highliners, the Ukrainians and erm ... several others ....

Saw Chickenshed Zeppelin on Henry's Beard cafe at 2 am or so Sunday morning, they didn't seem to play any Zep covers at the point I caught hem, but they had quite a nifty version of that Johnny Cash Fulsom Prison song ... (I mean the one with Fulsom Prson in the title) ...

Great to camp with aurora and family/friends, a constant entertainment!!

And just over the hedge from them were live in trucks with one or two other people I knew .... (Stig you should see the truck that Emma from Bristol now has ... tis a monster ... !!)

Idaho's and PieEye's curries on Saturday evening were class!

Weather was mostly fine, but it did get pretty chilly at night and on Sunday morning too ...

That line-up looks amazing, sounds like one of the best festivals around! I might well try and get there sometime in the future, even if it does sound a little short on dealers...;)

That was lovely :)

Twas very nice to meet some of you folks, albeit very briefly.

Idaho was lovely to meet and chat with you, I now cannot speak at all :D

Oh and I should apologise for it was me that drank ALL the Old Rosie :p

I don't have any pics to post cos drunkan Mr Loo kept leaving it where he was sitting, Thanks Lubi for rescuing it for me. I locked it in the car after that. I'll look forward to seeing all yours.

there was some weird apple throwing at tents last night which, with hindsight, is quite sweet and rural really...:D :p

top weekend - good to meet 'chef' Idaho, madamv, sparklefish, and crustychick properly...

RDF were brilliant (although worryingly I knew all the words to sing along, and cried like a girl when sprinkling Steve...)

I had fun and wish we could have stayed longer...

props to lady pie for driving, the sailor hat and dress / glitter wearing...
:)
