Somewhere between sherry and cough medicine. The first glass/swig from the bottle always makes you pull a funny face, but you get a taste for it quickly.

I am slightly curious given its terrible reputation. Might buy a small bottle to try it.

I saw the bottle in our local shop and remembered I hadn't tried it since the poll tax riot. A friend popped in and we finished that bottle. Was pretty good and made us dance round round the kitchen to happy hardcore.

I think I'll include it in my life a bit more from here on in

It really is. I'm loving strong milk stouts at the moment as well. Seems really wrong that beers that can be 7 to 9% can be so smooth.
