What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Two teas today: two mini dressed crabs (tramps' buffet at m&s so 50p instead of £6) with crusty bread around 4; then risotto with spinach and blue cheese using the chicken stock from the weekends roast around 6. Had a fancy raspberry cornetto for pudding. Might have to find a second pudding to even it all out.

Out for Asian street food, we shared a starter of duck spring rolls, vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay skewers, and prawn rolls with dipping sauces (two of each and very generously sized with homemade satay, sweet chilli and plum dips). I had massaman curry with coconut milk, beef, potato, onion and crispy shallots for the main with noodles, and a Singha beer. My pal's crispy duck with tamarind sauce was spliffingly good. The restaurant (Neon, in Dublin) also had an icecream machine and you could go and make yourself a Mr Whippy for dessert. Stuffed!:D

Fried chickpeas! Rolled in seasoned flour, fried in garlicky olive oil, gonna serve like a quesadilla, and put shredded iceberg in

I got all the stuff in for fajitas at the weekend but didn't get round to making them, and I used the chicken for something else.
I've got some leftover roast lamb so I think tonight will be lamb fajitas.
I don't think I've ever done lamb fajitas before, but I think they'll be OK.

Went for a Chinese last night. Whole roast duck, sizzling chilli prawns, chicken curry, chicken and black bean, won ton soup, noodles, rice, pak choi....

Luckily there were six of us :D

Going to the canteen for tea tonight. I may try some new things. I dunno what has happened but I have become totally obsessed with Chinese food since I got back here.

Maybe you're just going through a temporary lost-yer-cooking-mojo? It happens to pretty much everyone.

Defo what I have at the moment. Since I've been on holiday, I've cooked twice I think. The rest has been either takeway or cold cuts and stuff. I bought a new frying pan yesterday in an attempt to inspire myself. So tonight I'm going to do a good old fashioned steak with garlic mushroom and caramelised onions.

I too am suffering the cooking-for-one loss of cooking mojo.

I love to cook too, just can't be arsed to do it just for me. I appear to be eating a lot of toast atm.:(

Me too, I cba cooking, and now my fridge freezer is fucked so last few days have been FEB at caff then takeaway for dinner, which is a bit :( but actually also :) but not every single day

Tea tonight - I fancy a biryani

still uninspired. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I blame the crap weather.
I've got veggie sausages tonight, baked beans, and roasted parsnips (pretending to be chips). And odd bits of veg on the side. Not in the mood for any of that though

Am havin a huge portobello mushroom i got in the coop's tramps buffet last night. Roastin it first then fillin it wiv heinz beans and a coupla slices of strong chedder melted on top.

Stir fry (broccoli, bok choi, chinese leaf, beansprouts, chilli, red onion, garlic) with lime and coriander and rice. Using up quite a bit of stuff, I hope it's nice.

Putannesca and spaghetti with sourdough.

Still using the killer b sourdough recipe which just gets better everytime so I've just bought a banneton in the hope of getting loaves like this

my dad has one of them, his loaves look just like that.

i've cooked up some leftover pulled pork from the weekend with some tomatoes & garlic into a sort of ragout, and am eating it with pasta & parmesan. it's fucking gorgeous.

Gammon eggs peas and chips.
The gammon from the butchers in smelly alley (2 huge steaks for £6, and he chucked a third for free!). Chips frozen, but fried, eggs from Sainsburys.
Later we are having a summer fruits trifle from Sainsburys (half price only £1.16)

I just made a really boring tea (peppers, courgettes, tomato sauce and tagliatelle) into something both enticing and delicious by the addition of a tin of tomatoes and sardines and half a tin of anchovies, plus a dollop of greek yoghurt.
