What's for tea tonight? (#8)

pretty good soj, thanks for asking. bit tired (hungover) today but focussing on the weekend when we will be getting a new car and having four whole days off in a row. whoop. you? you seem well these days :)
Sounds ace (apart from the hangover thing!). Aye, I'm looking forward to the bank hol meself. I am just DANDY me dear :D Getting older, looking older, but feeling fiiiiine ;)

I keep forgetting it's bank holiday.
Wish we had money for a bbq.
Could maybe manage a picnic in the garden if housemate is out.

That on some white rolls with maple syrup. Served with broccoli.

I'm doing a couple of chicken shishes (if that's the plural of shish ?) with lots of green peppers, red onion and jalapeños. Garlic mayo slathered all over em. :)

The kids had a pizza with strips of chicken breast fried with some thyme added, asparagus and (cos my son came in and spotted it and COMPLAINED) a tiny bit of the roast veg I was doing for tomorrow's soup...and fresh pineapple for pudding.

Me...I'm having THIS, on a toasted multiseed roll....can't wait!

Almond finger and a cup of tea for afters.

Re-hashed last night's curry with added pineapple. Feeds 5.

Tomorrow is Granada's holiday - everything closed. Also happens to be 'Nigel the mega rock'n'roll star's' birthday, so I have bought a joint of beef ready for our first proper Sunday roast since I left the UK. Open house. Roast beef with Yorkshire puddings, onion gravy, fresh garden peas, roast potatoes, carrots and leeks.

Apple Charlotte with custard for pudding. It will be fun.

Charity run to buy Nigel a new guitar case also. He has lived on the streets of Granada for 12 years now. He is famous for good reason.

Went out for dinner for the fella's birthday.

Goats cheese salad followed by steak & chips for him.

Smoked salmon blinis followed by chicken supreme with dauphinoise potatoes for me.

Fucking delicious tbf  Also washed down with a fuckton of red wine and I am a bit pissed :)

Those are the exact words that spring to my mind whenever I think of you. :)

:D:D

Well that was stonking

Toying with the idea of a veggie chilli tonight, not sure yet. Have got to do some training for the new temp which is gonna be a trial (hate training) so expect lashings of wine will accompany whatever we do have

I am not sure I could eat a pig trotter :hmm:
Do you put the whole trotter on your plate?
What is the taste and texture like?
There are about a dozen trotters in a bowl with this sweet lipnumbing Szechuan pepper sauce that tastes lush. The texture is like the fatty bit of pork belly. You need to do a lot of gnawing and spitting out bone and gristle, but it's worth it as it tastes incredible.
