What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I'm feeling lazy and it's payday weekend, so I've just ordered a metric fuckload of Moroccan delivery food. Falafel, multiple types of vegetables, couscous, rice, mezze platter, and some mixed grill stuff. I will feast well.

We were meant to do a roast today but we just haven't got our shit together today so we ordered a curry.

We ordered from a new place (our favourite has gone crappy) and it was lovely.

2 mains, 2 starters, rice, naan and Bombay potato for 15 quid. Stupidly I then ordered an extra rice and naan that we didn't need.

He had lamb ceylon and I had chicken bhuna. So stuffed and there's still plenty left for lunch.

No prizes for what I had, slowly cooked for ten hours - I have plated it up and letting it rest for a few minutes as it is far too hot to eat. Burnt my tongue tasting it :D

I was going to do a big pot of something cassoulet-ish but the lads are having supper with a co-worker so Bratwurst with spuds and pickles.

WANT!!!!

ETA: QueenOfGoths Have you had the fresh pickled anchovies that they do in Sainsburys? The pickling makes they far less salty. They are soooo lush I can do a massive pot in one sitting.
It does however make badgers look at me in disgust and then have to go and throw up :D
Yes!! They are lush  And worth badger's vomit I would say :D

they are the bollocks. ASDA was doing them for a bit and were far cheaper, but I ain't seen them there for months

Teriyaki salmon with soba noodles and stir-fried appropriately Asian veggies. I am feeling a bit :hmm: about it. I hope it's not just overwhelmingly salty.

maybe a curry tonight squash and chickpea with coconut milk... Haven't quite decide. Other options are fish fingers, chips and beans if I'm feeling lazy or posh pasta if feeling super lazy..

Are those the lemon and herb ones? OMG I LOVE them! :D

They do huge pre-packed pots for £3/£4-ish, eh?
But they also do them on the deli for the same price by weight, so you can buy smaller tubs that way (if you have a Sainsbo's with a deli, obv!)

I'm making a low-fat pie today :hmm: ....chicken breast, leek and carrots in a chicken stock and low-fat philadelphia sauce with a filo top. We'll have sugar snaps with it...and we have more apple pie and custard for pudding (PIE AND PIE! :D )

sausage pasta - youngest daughters favourite.

veggie sausages grilled, then sliced.

Stir fry/saute onion/courgette/leek/mushrooms/carrot's. Plenty of coriander, tumeric, garlic and ginger.
Add sliced sausages, give it a bit more time to cook

Couple of tins of chopped tomatoes, some tomato puree/passatta tomato if needed - leave to simmer and thicken up.

Add to cooked wholemeal pata and enjoy

(plenty of cheese on top too!)

batch cooking - so I usually make loads and rest goes in freezer for meals later in the week :)

Slight change of plan here cos there was still a fair bit of filo left over, so my daughter and I made filo parcels with layers of sliced banana, nutella and peanut butter in...and we just took them out of the oven, split them open then put loads of squirty cream into the middle.....

OH MY GOD!!!!!  :D

The BAD news is that we only made TWO so I've had to make do with a single mouthful of each of theirs  :(

I've got some left over gammon but not 100% sure what to do with it- maybe a creamy sauce with the gammon, peas, broc and pasta....

The last two gu for pud: either chocolate or passionfruit cheesecake.
