Lamb doner samosa and a cheeseburger with chips.

No melon so far. Drinking gin so don't think I could cope with the fluid overload of a whole melon.

Perhaps breakfast instead.

Katsu curry with smoked tofu, spinach and wholegrain rice. Gin and tonic. David Rodigan's reggae show on BBC radio 1xtra. Fantastic.

Microwaved salmon, spuds and courgettes. Simple but mighty.

Using up stuff, so Parmentier potatoes, a paprika-ey stew of butterbeans and aubergine, grilled haloumi, padron peppers and lemony asparagus.

Chicken baked in chorizo and courgette sauce, with plain rice, broccoli and broad beans. Vanilla ice cream with a fridge-cold dark chocolate digestive crumbled on top for dessert.

New potatoes, green beans and green olives with olive oil, garlic and basil.

Tomato and chilli tortellini, with a tom and basil sauce I'm gonna make with the basil plant I have managed to keep alive for months!

Will have with crunchy salad, possibly with flat garlic bread too.

Strawberries, cream, and raspberry yoghurt for afters.

Mr Looby roasted a chicken yesterday so we had that with salad new potatoes and corn on the cob.

I had a cone of chips on the beach today so we’ve just had leftover chicken and salad with crusty bread and mexicana cheese. Might have a cornetto later.

Turkey tacos. Anyone else really struggle to eat in the heat or even worse... decide what to eat when it's this hot?

Really struggling to think of dinners at the minute, i would live off salad but himself gets bored of that.

I want to eat but can’t face most of our usuals. Mr Looby did jacket potatoes the other night but it was torture having the oven on.

Can’t be arsed to make anything like spag bol either and I’m a bit bored of salad now.

My cooker is reconnected! The guy made me connect the hose myself because technically they're not allowed to reconnect older appliances but he checked it and said it was all safe.

So I made a full roast dinner... Not. Actually I threw some stuff in a box and went to the park to eat it: leftover spuds with mozzarella and salad, blackcurrants and sunberries with yoghurt and a bit of muesli to dilute the acid for afters.

I think that's the last of the berries except for what I froze.

Lentil bake, new potatoes, corn on the cob, salad & a cider or 2. Was lovely.

We had mini gnocchi with pesto and pecorino, and a salad.
Strawberries and leftover cake.

Yellow courgettes (from garden), onion, corn, mushrooms and sausage meat over rice. Spiced with asfoedtida, coriander, parsley, cumin, chicken stock, pepper and celery salt.

I can't think of anything to have for tea tonight. There's a cheese and broccoli quiche in the fridge but i don't really fancy that.

Hmmm.

Had a look through my recipes and decided on:

Portobello or chestnut mushrooms done in mascarpone and tarragon, over toasted and garlic-rubbed sourdough bread.

Yum!

Will see what sort of summery puddings they've got. (Bet I end up with tiramisu again )

I had a big salad with all the normal bits plus orange pepper, radish, herby soft cheese, sliced ham and salami.

I'm still hungry so I might have some plain yoghurt with goji berries and sunflower seeds in a bit

Edit: I had an avocado with chilli flakes, salt and pepper

It's too hot for big meals just now.

I found this on youtube and it's extremely tasty and takes about an hour to make plus time to cool.

The fella's son is coming round so I think I'm gonna make melanzane parmiggiana and have with wholewheat pesto pasta.
