Ah well BOO to making up the time - it's a shitty position to be in (since my school took the catering back in house, I'm very lucky in that, on top of getting sick pay ourselves now, we also get an limited number of *first* paid days off to look after ill children - the theory being that that's time enough to organise care for any more extra days, which is not how it goes but is defo way better than fuck all).
But HOORAY for cake with Ruby and a more exciting dinner for today!

A few days ago my son left one of the freezer drawers open enough that the whole thing has frosted up (not for the first time, either ). I tried turning the temp down (it's a fridge freezer) which worked a little in the freezer but the fridge wasn't very cold earlier, so I've turned it back up again and now I'm going to have to try and wrap/insulate everything in the PACKED freezer this weekend, on top of all the other things I already have to do, so I can defrost the fucker at quick speed (millions of bowls of hot water and hours spent chipping off ice and soaking pools of water off the floor with towels which I will then have to wash.
I will get him to help but it will only be 'help' that I get, not ACTUAL help. That boy is testing my patience these last couple of weeks. *tired face*

I like to marinate chunks of halloumi in harissa and lime juice before frying. Great in a wrap!

Camembert always reminds me of the brilliant 'cryptic cheese' thread on here that I should dig out cos it made me laugh.

How long will stuff be ok out of the freezer?

I'm wondering if I can do something similar... although I've just shoved my big coolbox right to the back of the loft

I'm here for a mate's birthday, so don't think I'll manage to sneak off for a pint. We'll have to arrrange a northern meet in the summer though
