trying and failing to concentrate at work
went in for a meeting this morning, they are planning a reduction in posts by 32, and restructuring so that there is no wasted non contact time. also individual staff teams will be restructured to have the minimum staff needed on duty at once. currently we always have 1 more staff than students on each shift, as the extra person is usually a manager, who isnt expected to do contact hours. new structure is we will have only the amount of staff students are funded for, so for us, that means we can have 8 and a half staff on duty
, and they will be rounding down rather than up. also there will be no pay increase, which tbh although we were expecting, is a bit of a kick in the teeth when for the last 2 years the payrise has been below the level of inflation. they are however, putting the rent up for all staff in company owned accomodation
there are changes to sick pay too but i'm not too worried about that, as from what i can gather, you still get 2 days paid short term sick per 12 months, and tbh there are alot of staff here who do take the micky with sick days at the moment.
in one way, i'm relieved that i will still have a job but on the other hand, the job is going to change alot
