What stupid shit has Trump done today?

By taking Mosul and looting the supplies the Iraqi army were given by the US and abandoned by them when they fled. There's no mystery here and never was. Idiot.
Basically right. Only the Iranians and their chums maintain IS was ever supplied by the US. IS looted its arsenal much of latterly from the Syrian regime.

A New Report Raises Big Questions About Last Year’s DNC Hack

Forensic investigators, intelligence analysts, system designers, program architects, and computer scientists of long experience and strongly credentialed are now producing evidence disproving the official version of key events last year. Their work is intricate and continues at a kinetic pace as we speak. But its certain results so far are two, simply stated, and freighted with implications:
  • There was no hack of the Democratic National Committee’s system on July 5 last year—not by the Russians, not by anyone else. Hard science now demonstrates it was a leak—a download executed locally with a memory key or a similarly portable data-storage device. In short, it was an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system. This casts serious doubt on the initial “hack,” as alleged, that led to the very consequential publication of a large store of documents on WikiLeaks last summer.
  • Forensic investigations of documents made public two weeks prior to the July 5 leak by the person or entity known as Guccifer 2.0 show that they were fraudulent: Before Guccifer posted them they were adulterated by cutting and pasting them into a blank template that had Russian as its default language. Guccifer took responsibility on June 15 for an intrusion the DNC reported on June 14 and professed to be a WikiLeaks source—claims essential to the official narrative implicating Russia in what was soon cast as an extensive hacking operation. To put the point simply, forensic science now devastates this narrative

Are you serious? 6 years into this conflict and you don't know the first thing about it? And you like RT right?

And this now abandoned US program was to supply (lightly and inadequately) anti-ISIS forces, the forces that ran ISIS out of western syria. And it was provided on the basis that it not be used against the regime.
The SRF perhaps did chase IS across Aleppo Province once but not conclusively. It was the Jaish al Fayeh aligned Salafists that finally ran IS out of Idlib though IS sleeper cells were still reported to be popping Idlib a few months ago. The radical Salafists also routed the main SRF guys and have since systematically taken down FSA groups the CIA supported.

It's not accurate to say supply to rebels was conditional on kit not being used against the regime. This only applied to the later unsuccessful Pentagon T&E program in the East and South. That hasn't actually been fully stopped as far as I can tell. It's the earlier CIA program Trump finally cancelled. That always looked like another KSA inspired CIA inshallah operation that Obama stumbled into to try to get some leverage over US clients.

Ahar al Sham was part of JaF did get support from the Turks but never the CIA as they were viewed as too close to AQ. Langley backed groups provided critical fire support to anti-regime JaF offensives. This was always a problem in Syria as Salafi-Jihadi muscle played a stiffening role in ground offensives similar to HA on regime side. This was also true of early SRF offensives against IS were JaN was critical. Rebels also fought alongside IS e.g. in taking Menagh airbase. It's a tragedy where there were often only bad choices for the rebels.

The Syrian rebels were actually very well equipped and trained by CIA program standards. Far better than the Hmong hill people in Laos for instance. All those TOWs and later on rocket artillery. It compares to the Muhj war. No MANPADs but once the Russian entered the conflict those weren't going to make a critical difference. They didn't in Afghanistan really; Soviet airframes just flew higher. Sadly the rebels look to be ending up like the abandoned Hmong without even the option of seeking refuge in the US.

Thousands of " FSA " rebels ...who were being aided and supplied by western states and western partners..gulf , turkey..defected to both daesh and AQ . All these groups were intermingled and co operating with each other for years prior to Daesh assuming bogeyman status .

This is true, but don't be surprised when Trump supporters who depend on agriculture and agribusiness for their livelihoods still "stand by their man." Look, if people are content to get their information from Fox, right wing websites and now, Trump TV, they'll believe Trump or his proxies when they say it's not his fault. They'll probably figure out a way to blame it on Obama, or Hilary Clinton, maybe the Mexicans, or Muslims. They'll swallow it whole, even as the banks foreclose on their farms and businesses.

How about figuring out a way of blaming the Russians ? Seems to be your alternative in a nutshell. The only way the opposition can get even more ridiculous than they already are is to demand to see Trumps birth certificate to prove he wasn't born in Moscow .

Both these right wing parties are every bit as bad as each other .

He posted that the US destroyed Detroit not that it destroyed itself. You misread his post.
Thanks. I see where "the US are quite capable of destroying Detroit . . . " isn't exactly the same as "destroying themselves." Thing is, in an American political context, mentioning "Detroit" and "destroying" in the same sentence is virtually always racist coding, unless there's a very clear explanation to show the use is literal. Thinking Glen Beck's comment about nuking Detroit and starting over because Hiroshima is so nice now. :hmm: The whole idea of dog whistling is saying something bigoted you know people who agree with you understand, but not so explicitly that you can't insist you meant no harm. That's why I asked. I'd have thought regular contributors to a thread on American politics would understand common dogwhistles, but hey . . .

Okay, I'll accept it was said in ignorance. A simple "I/he didn't mean it that way" or "I didn't realise its sounded like dog whistling," would have sufficed. But nearly a page of defensiveness and invective? Jesus wept.

Here is something Trump seems to have done right... abandoning a billion-dollar CIA programme which was, ahem, funding terrorism. I guess we now know how ISIS were getting all those nice shiny Toyota pickups

The final lines of this article as regards " non lethal aid "bear out what your saying

How a Texas plumber's truck wound up in ISIS' hands

Putting a stop to this is far from stupid . Lots of other stupid stuff yes but not this .

Everyone knows that it was leaked by Seth Rich by now surely

Failing into David Kelly ct conspiracy level junk. The evidence that Russia is behind the Hack of the DNC is overwhelming, and articles which can't get the facts right about the Hacker's phishing of Podesta's emails, when it's all out in the public record, should be treated with scepticism.

Hey, this one's not even coded! :)

White House adviser says people should stop criticizing white supremacists so much

Wednesday, Gorka appeared on Breitbart News Daily, the radio show of his former employer. Gorka responded to criticism stemming from a previous media appearance on MSNBC where he said “[t]here’s no such thing as a lone wolf” attack. The concept, according to Gorka, was “invented by the last administration to make Americans stupid.”
On Wednesday, Gorka lashed out at “at [New York Times reporter] Maggie Haberman and her acolytes in the fake news media, who immediately have a conniption fit” and brought up McVeigh. He added that “white men” and “white supremacists” are not “the problem.”

It’s this constant, “Oh, it’s the white man. It’s the white supremacists. That’s the problem.” No, it isn’t, Maggie Haberman. Go to Sinjar. Go to the Middle East, and tell me what the real problem is today. Go to Manchester.

52% of Republicans Apparently Don’t Believe in the Constitution

Sadly, it looks like I may have had too much faith in the American people, at least if a new poll reported by The Washington Post poll is to be believed.

It says that 52% of Republicans who participated would be in favor of canceling the 2020 presidential election and holding off the election of a new president until the problem of voter fraud is solved.

Now, I’m barely going to get into the fact that voter fraud isn’t the problem that President Trump makes it out to be. Yes, it happens, but there’s no evidence that it happens on the scale that Trump claims. The real nightmare fuel here is the fact that the President of the United States has been railing against a problem (bogus or not), and there are Americans who would gladly let Trump stay in power without being elected in order to fix this.

Very small sample size, but still - wish I weren't surprised by this. If for any reasons the Trump administration and GOP led congress decided to suspend the 2018 elections, then the 2020 elections, I'm pretty sure there would be plenty of Americans who would back this. :(

Off for a road trip, so have a nice weekend! :)

This one what? So which one was coded? No apology for calling me a racist?
If you don't understand that I didn't call YOU a racist, that I questioned what you SAID and that is different, I can't help you.

Have a nice evening.

There's no factual evidence that any hacking even took place to begin with . It may well have been a leak, downloaded direct to a flash drive . There's nothing in the public record, just assertions , almost always from anonymous sources claiming their evidence is classified and can't be inspected .
Against a background of false flags including the notorious " piss gate " malarkey all such claims should be treated with scepticism .

It's Clinton supporters FFs .

'dog whistle much '

thats not questioning his statement, its accusing im of using a racist dog- whistle phrase because you didn't read it correctly and assume bad faith from the people who don't agree with you. And it isn't the first time you've casually called racism on a poster is it.

Can you share the overwhelming evidence for the Russian role with the rest of us then? I am open minded about it either way, but there seems to be little overwhelming evidence, and as the article I posted said these are two separate events with potentially different causes.

You accused him of using a racist " dog whistle " . That means you accused him of using a racist tactic and rhetoric . Which would make him a racist . Pretty much .

You should have just said " my mistake, i apologise for taking you up wrong " . Possibly not too late to reconsider . Being wrong on the Internet happens .
