What are you playing at the moment?

I've been currently playing through Cry of Fear and am about to start Half Life. I also am in the middle of playing TLOU 2, great game. better than the first one dare I say? lol jk, but I do prefer the gameplay, it's so fun.

I've just played through Horizon Forbidden West, its absolutely great fun. The very wokest thing I've ever seen, loved it. Flying mount, fuck yeah! Great combat system - no magic as such but there are so many different weapons and effects it doesnt matter. Beautiful everything, balanced and err credibly incredible fantasy/sci-fi combo. It made me buy Horizon Zero Dawn, which is now installed but not started.

That's because Deathloop is dragging me in now, it's trippy as fuck. Has anyone played it / loved it / solved it / hated it / quit?
I've just finished Deathloop! Absolutely loved it, hadn't a clue what was going on half of the time and could have done with a bit more help at the beginning of the game but by the end I was happily making myself invisible before taking people out with my sniper rifle!

And yeah it's trippy as fuck!!

I think "Prey" for me next.

I like Prey, found it a bit difficult at first but it's very engaging once you are into it.

Anyone played A Plague Tail: Requiem? Free with PS plus this month
Is that the first one or the second one?
First one is a great story, held back by the controls fighting you every inch of the way.
Second one has better control, but isn't quite as compelling. To the extent that there's a fight near the end that's that little bit too hard and I thought "Fuck it" and never finished. It should've had a "I just want the story" mode.

It's got a 9/10 on Steam, so I'm probably just a cranky old git. There's too much combat, of a sort that's neither interesting nor fun, crammed into it.

Lol just playing gun raiders on vr. Bunch of high levels v a bunch of noobs. Went on on noobs team and wiped the others out over and over. Some kid going oooo we have a player lol. They could have swapped to make it fairer before this. Turned a 70-0 losing position into a 76-100 win lol. Don't pick on noobs then! Whiny sods lol.

Bought an RG35XX for a massive £35 off AliExpress. Was meant to be for The Boy as his 2DSXL is... poorly with age, Nintendo doesn't make them any more, and used ones are like £150 on Ebay.

After tinkering with it for a while, I think I want to keep it for myself. Plays everything up to PS1 perfectly well, and honestly anything better than that needs an analog stick. (There's a Plus model, but it's nearly twice the price and I wouldn't want to play N64 or DreamCast without analog) You do need to be comfortable with sourcing your own ROMs and flashing SD cards from image, because the card it comes with is a bit crummy. Though I will give that it does work out of the box, just not in the best way possible.

Only thing I could use is a better BIOS/plugin for C64 games. It tends to take a Real Life amount of time to load a 1541 disk, which is really unacceptable. I'm sticking to C64 on the desktop for now.

Played a lot of Insurgency: Sandstorm, so bloody good! Also, just got back into The Division 2 again, never played the Warlords of NY content so working my way through that.

Seems ages since I've played anything. I feel like I should be doing something productive, but I'm just clicking round on stuff randomly so thought I'd get a game. Bought Watchdog Legion really cheap, probably will never finish it, but hey. I've gone to install it it's 111GB. So probably won't be firing that one up tonight. :D

Cocoon is a puzzle game with gorgeous biomechanical art, where the orbs that you carry around to activate things are also the actual levels that you can go inside of, and bring other orbs with you, and you carry the levels around inside each other and it's somehow not confusing at all. It's great.

Only 1.5GB so you could probably finish it while Watchdog downloads :D

its taken my since 2011 but ive finally completed a whole play through of skyrim. this time as a dark elf joe exotic (yes I started it during lockdown). ive loved this game from the start but never had enough drive to sit down for enough hours to get through it. the scenery is stunning even for a game over a decade old. I love just wandering around and chatting to people, not even that fussed by all the fighting and dragon slaying.

Love it. It doesn't end. Finally stopped playing after about 140 odd hours. Needed a change. Currently playing Farcry 6. Great fun.

Plenty of replay in Skyrim though so might go back as a different character.

the main quest was fun, but I'm enjoying the game more now I dont have that and can just pop into a little cave and piss about without wondering what's going to happen next in the plot. think I'm only about 90 hours in, and can very much see myself spending much more time wandering about!

That looks really cool, but sadly puzzle games aren't really my thing.

Tbf I'm not massively in to games you've got to sneak around, but I'm enjoying Watchdogs more then I thought I would. Maybe because the sneaking round isn't that hard, but it's quite cool to use drones and spiderbots. I don't know London that well, but it's pretty cool they've mapped it all the same, even I recognise bits. It's also pretty stunning, think it's the first game I've noticed the HDR, my normal desktop is dimmer if I alt tab out to check something. As it's a few years old everything is on ultra with some nice framerates. Not bad for £6 anyway.

I just finished Guardians of the Galaxy, which was... fine, probably a 6/10 overall - the Zero Punctuation review was spot-on in its criticisms.

Next up is Alien Isolation that I've owned for ages but never got around to playing. I think I'm going to play with headphones and the lights turned down for maximum immersion. I also just got Anno 1800 for when I want a break from hiding from xenomorphs.

GotG was fun enough, but introduced nothing new that you haven't seen before and if you're not invested in the characters it falls flat on its face.
But if you liked the films and care about the characters and so on, I thought the story was well done.
