What are you baking?

Lovely!

I am after a vegan and gluten free cake recipe....any ideas? :D

Macarons went MACAWRONG dunno why, same recipe, different oven. Completely undercooked both batches and 2nd batch I left in for longer. :(
How about chocolate and aubergine cake? It's very rich and moist. No flour, only ground almonds and the aubergine is instead of egg. You wouldn't know it had aubergine in it if you didn't know.

It's a bit faffy, and uses honey but you could substitute sugar

Bake off starts tonight (hurrah) so I thought I'd make a coffee and walnut cake.

Alas, I'm in deepest Hertfordshire.

At this rate no cake will be consumed as I've eaten the left over butter icing. I always manage to ruin it for myself.:D

did another pasty making session with the kids. they are quite faffy to prep for, so it's better to do a huge batch at a time and freeze most. so 7 dinnerplate sized ones, me, himself, 3 kids and my parents for supper. plus about 20 smaller ones into the freezer.

i daren't post up on facebook again, last time involved a bitter row with some pasty recipie purists.

Can I substitute museli for porridge oats in a recipe for oatmeal cookies? It's mostly oatmeal anyway, and the other bits of stuff they put it should be ok in a cookie. I have loads of spare museli and there's no way I'm eating that cementy concoction.

I've done so before now and it more or less works. You can also substitute mueseli for oats in a flapjack (the traybake kind, not the pancakes) recipe.

Made a shitload of vanilla cupcakes last night; making a shitload of chocolate cupcakes tonight. They're for my son's Super Mario themed birthday party next weekend. I'm going to ice the vanilla ones as mushrooms and the chocolate ones as goombas.

Also made a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream for his birthday tea today.
