Those SAS programmes...

Got some "safety training" once from some scary ex SBS bods who liked to turn every workshop into a comedy roasting of their SAS counterparts as loudmouthed billy big-bollockses who weren't nearly as hard at their core as the modest, inoffensive, geography-teacher lookalikes in the SBS. Endless score-settling anecdotes were told of SAS being too in love with itself and not all that good at surviving (but quite good at writing books about it afterwards). Of course any members of the "ordinary" Army, Navy or Air Force were beneath their contempt and not even worth mentioning.

Then I read this and it turns out that schoolgirl-level bitchery and mutual sabotage goes both ways in the Special Forces...:D
End your rift, SAS and SBS are told

SBS also like cross-dressing but then all royal marines do :hmm:. Much to the horror of the US Navy Seals who try to be more macho than a macho thing. Some idiotic Cypriots managed to mistake the cropped-haired tattooed mustached lunatics as the worlds ugliest transvestites and decided to gay bash them:facepalm:. Went about as well as can be expected minutes later they were back to making the SEAls as uncomfortable as possible:D

Don't you appreciate a good skin-care regimen when you see one?
I have empathy that those without “good” skin didn’t choose to be that way and have no interest in contributing to a social atmosphere that makes people think that they are somehow lesser because they have failed the good skin test. At the very least, I don’t feel the need to comment on how somebody looks just simply because the thought my crosses my mind.

:facepalm: Do you just make this stuff up

I cannot thank this thread enough for introducing me to this Ant fellow and so finding the film of his trip up Everest - something that always, always fascinates me - and the marvellous Mutiny! I LOVE stuff like Mutiny :D
Ooh shall look for the Everest climb, love things like that. It's the weather for it too.
