The Trump presidency

Donald Fucking Trump said:
''How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process.''

The president of the USA can't even spell tap.

I know, I know, it's a mere nugget in the shitstorm .. but still. Tap.

Russian Ambassador visited Obama Whitehouse 22 times!

Oh? The Obama Whitehouse? It's almost as if The White House was the seat of the head of government, and the Russian Ambassador had official business to attend to with the government of the country in which he has based! SHOCKING!

As opposed to the Russian Ambassador speaking to a Senator, who then lies under oath and perjures himself. The fact that the Senator lied under oath, thats the issue. The issue is, "Can The Senator be trusted in office?"

Anyway, the pence thing about him using the AOL account...Can't wait to see how quickly the Republicans go after him being unsuitable for office now. Oh, what do youmean they aren't? How partisan is that...

It has a point but on the other hand:

1. It misses the point that regardless of how justified that might be, it's in the interests of the Democratic Party to continue to boost the idea of Trump being a foreign pawn, and perpetual innuendo is an effective way of doing that. Why would anyone expect that they would be impartial guardians of truth somehow? They have a distinct political goal.

2. It misses the point that, aside from all of the Dem party efforts that do tie into anti-Russian propaganda, there are good reasons to think that the Trump administration might be closely allied to Russia, and that that might be a bad thing. There's a nasty dumb pro-Putin/Assad aspect to a lot of supposedly anti-war/left commentary now, which ridicules any idea that it might be a bad idea to indulge Putin's government, and actively picks up on the Republican talking point that Hilary wanted to start WW3. This flatter that and I think it's dangerous. I saw it during the election and I'm still seeing it, possibly increasing.

Fascinating isnt it ?...within living memory ..... we had the Republicans McCarthyist reds under the bed ....destroyer of careers and lives.... with claims of the democrats being TRAITORS and COLLABORATORS with the RUSSIANS.....acting in TREASON against the american PEOPLE

a complete role reversal

Just what would Ronnie say

Ten years earlier Uncle Joe was a hero in parts of the U.S, it will change again i am sure

Meanwhile, the destruction of families and deportation of brown people continues apace.

Immigration agents deport Houston father of two who previously held immigration reprieve

Jose Escobar lost his legal status in a paperwork gaffe more than a decade ago when he was still a teen in Houston.

That slip-up, the fault of his mother who thought her child would be automatically included in her own renewal application, has trailed him ever since. Thursday it led to his surprise deportation to El Salvador, a country he hasn't seen in 16 years.

The government's decision to remove the 31-year-old father, who has no criminal record and is married to an American citizen, is the latest indication that President Donald Trump's administration plans to deport practically any immigrant here illegally, even some like Escobar who were temporarily protected, who happens to fall into its cross hairs.

It comes just days after the president told Congress that he was removing gang members and drug dealers just as he had promised.

Left behind now is Escobar's wife Rose, a receptionist at Texas Children's Hospital, and their two small children. It escalates the fear felt by many immigrants across the nation as they realize they are increasingly at risk.

The Escobars had thought they were safe. Since 2012, Jose has had a temporary reprieve from deportation and a work permit. He checked in with immigration authorities every year.

Jose called Rose at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday to tell her that he was in the San Salvador airport and too terrified to step outside. The removal came after their lawyer, Raed Gonzalez, requested a stay of deportation to reopen Jose's case. The government never responded, he said.

"What the president is doing is going after everyone," said David Leopold, an Ohio immigration attorney and past president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. "This case is a tragic example of what's happening on the ground."

There may be trouble ahead . . .

Trump flashes anger over Sessions recusal, Russia stories in tense Oval Office meeting

Before heading off to his so-called "winter White House" in Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, President Donald Trump summoned some of his senior staff to the Oval Office and went "ballistic," senior White House sources told ABC News.

The president erupted with anger over the latest slew of news reports connecting Russia with the new administration -- specifically the abrupt decision by Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign.

With Marine One waiting on the South Lawn, Trump and his team engaged in an animated exchange -- captured by press pool cameras peering in through the windows from the White House South Lawn. Trump then left the office for the helicopter, taking the hands of his young grandchildren and joined by his daughter Ivanka and Kushner.

Priebus and Bannon were planning to join the trip, but suddenly after the president's eruption those plans changed. One source said both men volunteered to stay behind in Washington, with another source saying the president seemed to concur that they should. Sidelining key staffers with whom he was angry was an occasional Trump tactic during the campaign.

As President Trump was in the air aboard Marine One headed for Air Force One on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews, a last-minute phone call was made from the West Wing to the team on board the president’s plane with a directive to remove Priebus and Bannon from the manifest, sources said. They would not be coming to the Sunshine State.

Trump's presidency is like Wagner or Shakespeare scripting an online meltdown. It is just so fucking epic.

Bumbling from Watergate!!1!! to moaning about TV ratings.

I agree; which is why it's important to recognize that, even though it hasn't developed very far yet, there are the beginnings of bipartisan support for investigation in to the Trump/Russia issues.

Key GOP senators join call for bipartisan Russia election probe

Here's how seriously Congress is investigating Trump and Russia

Edited to add: ... but of course, the Republicans might also have their own goals. Someone made a post on the other thread about the possibility that the Republicans can use Trump in the beginning as a useful tool to push through legislation that furthers some of the more distasteful aspects of the Republican conservative platform; and then later on, turn on him, impeach him, blame him for the destruction of Social Security etc., and then return the reins of government to the usual Republican political elite.

None of this, however, detracts from the possibility that even someone who is the target of politicians with hidden agendas, can still in fact be guilty of crimes worthy of investigation and censure.

I think it depends on how you are looking at the interests of the Democratic Party. I think it's absolutely in the interests of Clintonites to assert the idea that it was Russia that swung the election, because it excuses the fact that they ran a corrupt, tactically very poor campaign both during the primaries and in the general election. It also excuses the candidacy itself of Clinton, which very clearly never should never have happened because it made no electoral sense.

However, it is not in the interests of the Democratic base, or any Democrats who actually want to get elected, to continue pushing the Russia narrative to the exclusion of everything else because evidently it does not play well with the people who the Democrats need to turn out during elections. If it did then Clinton would have won.

You should think about hiring a new joke writer and a fact checker.

Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't voluntarily leaving the Apprentice, he was fired by his bad (pathetic) ratings, not by me. Sad end to great show

1 month and a couple of weeks in, the National Security Adviser sacked and the Attorney General the story and under pressure.

I cannot think of any president of a newly elected president in so much trouble so early. You normally need to give them a couple of years for their policies to go south and a couple of mishandled crises.

But people are trying to paint this as a bad idea, its almost like concern trolling.

The NSA record all electronic communications, and may well record all phone conversations, to me that's a bigger and much more worrying scandal than communications with Russian officials. If Flynn and Sessions hadn't lied they would have nothing wrong, on that score alone.

Fair enough but that's a completely different kettle of fish from the Tangerine twats specific accusation that Obama had his individual phone tapped.

:D

True, but 'Trump Scorns Swarzneggers tenure as apprentice host, nukes Iran on finding swartnegger actually had higher ratings on the show, apologises to what remains of Tehran after realising he had missed a decimal point'
Is always on your mind while waiting for google to connect:p

Eh? If half of the Shyte flying around can be proved then The Tangerine Twat will be gone as will a considerable amount of support for the GOP.
Agreed the Dems made an arse of things trying to push Clinton, but as mediocre as she would have been, things wouldn't be half as shitty as they are turning out if she had been elected.

Can you explain what 'half the shite' consists of and what the subsequent mechanism for this will be then?

Tony Blair 'in shock bid to work for Donald Trump as Middle East envoy'

Tony Blair is set to take up a shock role in the White House as Donald Trump's Middle East envoy, it has been claimed.

The former Prime Minister and leader of the Labour party has held three secret meetings with the President's son-in-law Jared Kushner since September, according to reports.

A well placed source told the Mail on Sunday: "Blair has been pitching hard for this job and Trump’s people are taking him very seriously."
