The Outdoorsy "Sofa".

No one been up to much over the winter? Went on my annual birthday (except for last year, family stuff) lake district trip 2 weeks ago. Every year it's got bigger, there was 16 of us this time in an enormous house in Eskdale. Finally got a decent amount of snow after god knows how many years. I have some superb photos but only one on my phone. The view from Illgill head towards Scarfell.

I usually go to Scotland for a week's mountaineering and climbing around now. Not going for the first time in 12 or so years this year for various reasons and I'm going to miss not having a wild winter week this year.

Was in Snowdonia for NYE. Went up to the Snowdon on the day of the 31st. Not a scrap of snow to be had.

Been a bit rubbish this Winter :(

You should try a little further North ;)

Carn na Caim on 10/02/2019. We were also supposed to climb A' Bhuidheanach Beag but we had to turn back as it was too icy and we had neither crampons nor ice axe

I'm in the same place. Almost tempted by a new jacket but drinking a Guinness instead
*Waves*

We've done very well on pub visits. I think we've drunk in six of them since I arrived on Friday  we've done some walking too though. And had a very disappointing curry this evening.

I have been to the Alpkit shop. And loads of stuff is on sale. But I'm at the midpoint of a weightloss campaign so it would be super frivolous to buy nice things that I shrink out of.

But I'm gathering a nice mental wishlist though

In other news it appears that the airing rack couldn't cope with 110m of rope and harness covered in metal work and buckled big style. Just had to order a new one from Amazon. :(

Am currently 4 days into walking the Southern Upland Way, 215 ish miles across southern scotland, west coast to east. It's a tough slog (though i'm pretty unfit and my rucksack is full of food.)
Am writing this at bargrennan campsite, stayed in the beehive bothy last night. Have to say the scottish borders are stunning, never been here before-the place is deserted, low population density and beautiful scenery ftw! 2 weeks to go, feck work!
