The left and electoral meta-strategy

By meta-strategy, I mean for instance Conservative policies such as Right to Buy which were/are ostensibly designed not just to win the next election, but to redesignate swathes of the electorate as natural Tory voters. What do you think the left's equivalent should be?

There can be no left equivalent - I think the need of a functioning left-media is more important, because left policies should be attractive to the majority of the population. (If they were being rational of course. )
