The end of cash?

It's shit how banks can do it and give so little information, but unless your keeping 1000s under the bed in cash and somehow get paid in cash, I'm not sure how it's relevant to what method we use to pay for things.

I don't know it at all. Who's been talking about the dangers of political debanking then?

And, I don't believe you, based on all your recent dishonest posts, you're just trying to big up Trump again.

IF, you are truly that ignorance, google will provide you with the answer.

No surprise to see that the only major Western politician to speak about the political implications of this has been Donald Trump. Still less of a surprise to find that the liberal MSM haven't even heard about it yet, and still think it a good idea to mock Trump on the subject:

No surprise to see you continuing your Trump fanboy nonsense.

And debanking isn't the same as the spread of cashless payments, which is what this thread is about.

Oh right, Farage. I suppose they'll start with people like him, who enjoy very little sympathy from the kinds of people who would normally protest against such things. But it won't end with people like him. It's an extremely potent weapon if you think about it.

And, it has nothing to do with this thread.

I know of some who has a few thousand in cash scattered around their house and I am sure there are many more who do the same. Some do it to hide it from the eyes of people who assess you for benefits.

Oh don't pollute this thread with your pro-Trump propaganda. You stink up every thread you touch, and have been barred from a handful of them that I know about.

The thing is, it really ought to be the Left complaining about this. But afaics politicians on the British Left simply can't understand the political implication or, perhaps more likely, they fear alienating their corporate paymasters by mentioning it. So it's only the likes of Trump and Farage who are protesting. Not my fault is it?

Everyone's complaining about your fuckwittery.

It really isn't. It's true, cash doesn't go down or get hacked.
Oh noes?

“On 8 November 2016, the Government of India announced the demonetisation of all ₹500 and ₹1,000 banknotes of the Mahatma Gandhi Series. It also announced the issuance of new ₹500 and ₹2,000 banknotes in exchange for the demonetised banknotes.”

“ The announcement of demonetisation was followed by prolonged cash shortages in the weeks that followed, which created significant disruption throughout the economy.[5][6][7] People seeking to exchange their banknotes had to stand in lengthy queues, and several deaths were linked to the rush to exchange cash.”

It’s a three month old story and we discussed it at the time it came out. Basically, the use of cash is up because, amongst other things, inflation is high so the use of money generally is up. Cash continues to fall as a percentage of all transactions, though.

Looks like it's not just a card issue,

Sainsbury's: 'Vast majority' of deliveries cancelled over technical issues

Sainsbury's says it will not be able to fulfil the "vast majority" of online deliveries on Saturday because of "technical issues". Customers have been contacting the supermarket on social media to report issues with their online orders. Some stores are also having issues with contactless payments and chip and pin. Sainsbury's apologised to customers and said it was working hard to fix the issue caused by an overnight software update.
