*The Archers thread

Gavin Moss has returned. He sounded a bit peaky, perhaps a car journey with Alan back to Felpersham has transmitted his germs to the vicar who will play Typhoid Mary and take out a slew of older characters - I reckon Peggy, auntie Chris and one of the Gleeson twins must be at risk.

Please can he not be another awful romantic storyline for Kirsty, can’t remember if backalong he had a crush on her or not

I reckon the non-American who had two six'n year olds in the back of the car will be back needing somewhere to kip urgently and offering homespun wisdom role, when Joy has to disappear to deal with the awful unresolved issues with (the possibly imaginary but certainly deeply problematic) Rochelle, following the disclosure of Mick's previous unsavoury behaviour...

Or possibly not. Anyway, whoever puts a glottal stop in 'sixteen'? (You can tell I'm still mithering over that.)

What was Mick’s previous behaviour? Or is that yet to be revealed?

I am fascinated to know about the Rochelle story when we get the big reveal

I don't know anything about Mick's previous - it's just a hunch that he must have something. He appeared out of nowhere with no back story. And is very invested in being a crap Father Christmas.
He travelled around as a roadie previously, so could be all manner of wrongdoings in every city with a medium sized arena

I'd forgotten the roadie story, probably because the scriptwriters haven't worked very hard to make it credible - at least, not while I've been listening. Srsly, has there been any kind of corroboration re bands or venues and mishaps or anything? He must have so many stories from his travels if it's true.

They were on the way back from some gig which was a band he knew or maybe just liked when they were hit by Alice’s car. Not sure if they went backstage.

I once thought him a confidence trickster playing a long game on Joy but maybe there’s something more sinister. Though if he hates children he can’t be all that bad

So, it is Leonard who fell off his bike ..

But I thought it was Joy's bloke (living in the camper van in the pub's car park) who was getting back into cycling?

Confusion might have arisen because, iirc, it was Joy who unearthed some of her old cycling gear (helmet etc), and Leonard she passed it on to when he was helping Mich with his van. Leonard had discovered and restored an old bike in the back of one of David's barns and decided to take up his old hobby again. OMIL.

I always found Brenda’s trajectory from local journalist and PA of Matt Crawford and Lilian, to meeting the Russian pretend oligarch property developer (explored in Ambridge extra - some episodes here The Archers Collection with a plot that resembles a Mamet film like House of Games or The Spanish Prisoner) and then suddenly becoming a high powered business type jetting around the world to be a bit unlikely, though she was always ambitious.

So not really sure what she does for a living; but it is good to have her return. I wonder if she might do a Hazel Woolley move (perhaps the character she most resembled based on last night) on Kirsty and accept a higher offer on Willow Farm and that will mean she has to move in to Rex’s boat.

It would be interesting if she remains and took a hand in running some local businesses but feel the way she’s been written it’s going to be a short and sharp return.

Not sure it’s the same actor.

It was fun to have Tom Archer’s name dragged through the mud as always
