I get to read her column on the Sundays I go to visit my mum and dad. She's pretty sound on most issues tbf. It's certainly a contrast to go from Peter Hitchens column on one page to hers on the next.

I know my patch and I love where I live. I also know how unglamorous the problems are: poverty, unemployment, crime, a general feeling of lives closed down before they have properly started. Unlike Abbott, my kids have gone to school here. She has been an MP for 23 years and is now part of the Establishment. Change is needed.

I went to a discussion on class the other day where she was an panellist. As a friend remarked, she was out of her depth even though the 'debate' was barely an inch deep. Poor show; I was underwhelmed.
