sunbound unsound beach party

the flight back is pretty late though - isn't there a risk the buggers will be full up?

Um....maybe. You're like my mum you, with your lateral thinking and planning nouse.

I'm still going to leave it for the return journey - what I tend to do is get on a Stansted Express train back, it's unlikely there's a ticket inspector on it at that time and then get on the Victoria line at Tottenham Hale.

I haven't paid for a return journey from Stansted for a while - only the T Hale - Brixton leg.

This is, of course, not guaranteed to work :D

Btw - how are you getting your ticket? Do you have to go and collect from somewhere at Liverpool St?

i haven't sorted it yet, i think it's just an e-ticket thing. but i might just be rash and copy you :)

or copy your rash, something like that.

finally paid for this today.

also found out that dub dadda and some other cool people are playing on the second weekend- when i'm there. yay. :)

I'm so excited!

I bought a nice summer dress for the beach (I dont have any!) but I also need a new bikini....arrgh, so much to prepare!

Everyone: please dont not wear SPF cream, its very silly not to :)

Too late chuck, I've never worn cream and I'm not about to start. You'll recognise me when you see me, I'm the one with the antique leather skin :D :D

by the way, i tried to book a return coach to Stansted using the Terravision company Sus and Roby recommended. they are a lot cheaper but there appears to be a glitch in the online booking - when you try and book a return it tries to charge you for two singles (even though all the way through the booking process it says it isn't)... i sent an email to the company, but i'm off work so i haven't had a reply. but they are dead cheap - £13.50 return to Victoria..

Ive just looked at the website and it seems that I can book a return ticket from Liverpool St to Stansted (easier for me than Victoria) and its only £8.30....is that normal? :D

Not sure whether I should book it or not....

Sunblock? I will be exhibiting the traditional English "mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid day sun" mentality. so i suspect i will be lieing up from day 2 with sunstroke...:D

<knots a hanky at the corners and passes it to Kinsales>

Are we going to be the dodgy pink possé in the face of all these continental olive skinned types?

:(

Well I'm not getting fucking burnt - it hurts for a start

Not if I have anything to do with it *considers getting some kind of SPF 25 hose for Kinsales*

Yay treefrog! :)

I will be using SPF 15, I should maybe use summat higher but I like to convince myself that despite inheriting my father's pink & white, freckled Irish skin, I have some of my mum's meditteranean olive skin......yeah sure(!) :D

Still though, I dont burn like I used to and SPF 15 is better than nothing....

*eyes up careless urbanites*

:p

I have olive skin, but I have got burned quite badly before and for the last few years I slap on nothing less than SPF15, my tan lasts for a lot longer too.

we're here -- three days drive cos the van was a bit on the heavy side -- stuffed to the gills with lovely bass bins -- it's very hot down here - everything well on course -- looks like we're gonna have some mental two weeks -- ci vediamo in spiaggia --he he he

Trains, planes, automobiles...

If anyone is interested in getting a train ticket Liverpool St - Stansted for £17.75 return I'd be up for making a group booking. I'll need to hear from you by 8pm today as I need to confirm numbers and make the booking on my credit card. This offer is for people travelling out on the 8th and returning on the 15th only due to restrictions on group bookings.

I've tried minibus options but they're ridiculous prices - I was quoted £105 each way for 5 people plus luggage! Anyone got better minibus prices?

Does anyone know how the transfers to and from Brindisi will work? I guess there will be a fleet of stretch limos to meet us? Just to put my tiny mind at ease :)

ok - MY Neurotic question now:

do we really just show up at the airport with that confirmation/reference number and a passport, is that all it takes?

Yep. I've done it loads of time.

I need to get some Euros, any suggestions for how many?
I have no idea how much I'm likely to need for a week.
