"Solidarity for both trans rights and women's rights" by Janine Booth

The reports are totally different and keep on describing them with different names. In any case, there would be no way they would move to a female prison when the most dangerous female prisoners usually get kept in the male estate anyway.

Maybe this man finally feels remorse and guilt for what he did, maybe he doesn't want to be the person who did that any more, maybe ''becoming a woman'' is a way of burning the bridge back to that self.

Maybe it is all just made up.

Enough evidence for some spokesman of the libdems to come out with the 'moral failing' for calling Huntley a 'he' thing. That person has now hidden his twitter.
Apart from that no, just tabloid stuff about Huntley's transition.
Do you think its untrue? Does that even matter anymore? You couldn't make it up: Lets say Ian identified now as Lian, or Nicola. Did a woman commit those crimes?
I don't think he is a woman no. I also think a lack of clarity over what the rules are and all the scaremongering in the media is going to make men like that get the idea that they can self identify themselves into a female jail itself. See also: people claiming to be Jewish or Muslim while in jail in hopes of getting a nicer meal, because of the bollocks about it in the media.

You think no way Huntley would identify as a woman ? Could be. Silly old lib dems for getting drawn in then. I have no clue obvs if its true or not, just watching the fallout.

I have no idea whether they could or would but it is all just tabloid speculation at this point. There's nothing confirmed either way. I personally very much doubt it.

fwiw, and I have no knowledge of the Huntley trans story at all, but I think it would be entirely appropriate to continue calling him what he was called when he murdered those girls. Who gives a fuck what has happened to him since?

I thought the point of this thread was that it shoudn't go the way ofthe others. Rather, it's about finding points of agreement to build solidarity around. Not sure helpful it is to use Huntley as a stick to beat trans people with; we don't know if he's trans, and, even if he is, he's hardly representitive.

There's no proof of it either way. And even if he is trans there is no way he's going to a female prison lol. Like seriously can you imagine how mental people would go.

Huntley a no go. Pure tabloid agreed. But seriously the state of it was a thing to behold, people were willing to die on that particular hill. i saved this bit :
the reported person did get restricted on the twitter, for hate speech.

Have you read about fb/twitter moderators and their work conditions though? Like how do you know they even knew who he was
The person that banned them was probably either someone who was overworked in some call centre in another country who probably doesn't even know who Ian Huntley was. That, or an algorithm.

no-one cares what some no-mark wanker on twitter thinks.
Spokesman for the lib dems came out in same mode (defence of pronouns for Huntley * after the tabloid 'scoop') but that is now deleted. It might be marginalia but not without interest, imo, to historians of our age of confusion.

*that's it will not mention him her them again ever honest soz

That didn't last long.

Thread closed. It's just become the same as the last one despite it being made very clear that threads discussing specific points would be okay.
