There's nothing wrong with drop scones but they are not the traditional pancakes for pancake day.
For a start you cook a few drop scones in one go... so how do you toss them?
When you add lemon and sugar you generally fold or roll them... how do you do that with drop scones?
If you've got the ingredients, mix the batter up tonight - it'll taste better for a few extra hours of standing (in a cool place or the fridge) and then you won't forget to have pancakes tomorrow.Don't recall ever having pancakes on pancake day. we'll be havng the usual mushroom/garlic/onion savoury filling, optionally with/without grated cheese... also on offer will be home-made "nutella" with bananas and a selection of jams, lemon and sugar.
