Seriously Good Looking Guitars - The Guitar Porn Thread

Why should you?

Because they're beautiful examples of a beautiful thing.

I nearly - as in "had it on order but was looking at a 3 month wait" - bought one of these, and for £200 less than they went up across the whole Peerless range:

I'm in discussion with a friend who makes electric guitars about a build in the style of the ES355 like the one above. It's all very exciting> I've always had a thing about 'f' holes. I wouldn't buy one without a tremolo though. What do you play at the moment?

Would you ever go here?

If I had the money, yes. But I'd have a Peerless, I think. Or similar - the Samick JZT20 looks good:

I don't have a semi-acoustic. At the minute I've got an Eastwood Wandre DLX which if someone offered me £400 for they could have (it's a lovely guitar but a bit polite for me, a bit blues-riffy iyswim), a Washburn X-50 Pro FE which does everything very well, my old Dano U2-56 reissue, and a cheap Vintage Zip VZ99 which is the one I've been playing to death lately.

Dano U2-56
I don't know what they play like but I think their guitars are dead sexy.
I'm also a sucker for a Bigsby
I own a US Jag reissue which I love dearly. I just want more guitars really :)

It was a toss up between the Jag and the Grestch. It took my ages to pick which one. I'm glad I got the Jag as its way more versatile than the Duo Jet

Yeah, my Eastwood has a Bigsby. It's v. cool, although I've not had to change a string yet and it looks like work to me, that.

Danos play nicely, they're obviously cheap and light but the lipstick pickups jangle nicely and you can get a good amount of controlled feedo out of mine - so it can do the Tele job and kind of a semi thing too. But I bought it cos it looked cool.

I REALLY like the look of the Eastwood. That is deservedly on this thread for sure. Danelectro looking cool as ever. Not sure about the Washburn. Not my bag (to look at at least). What's the one at the end? The Yellow one?

That's the Vintage Zip. £99 it cost me. Nice and noisy - it's twin P-90s.

Yeah, the Washburn isn't my cup of tea as far as looks go, but it's my "workhorse". It does everything, from jangle to thrash. And like I say, the Eastwood is a brilliant guitar - and are now I think only available for £679 in the UK - but it's not really "me". I'd sell it, tbh. PM us if you're interested, or you know someone who might be interested.

Ooh I want to do a pic now but I am not sure if I can be bothered to go round the house and pick them all up for a vanity shot. I am proud of my babies though.

I hate you for that Tele.

It's ok but not great. It's an original 72 not the reissue. Doesn't sound or really feel like a tele (thank god). It's got one of those old fender neck connections that has 3 bolts instead of four so is prone to wobblyness. I think I sorted that out a couple of years ago though, it doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.

Before the reissues the only picture I ever saw of someone playing one was keith cheguin on the cover of the brown sauce 'I just wanna be a winner' single

Firebird fap fap fap
Whats the animal print one? It looks a bit like a Rickenbacker Bass?
I have the same Jaguar.

Grrr, the ones you should all be looking at are the phantom, the longhorn and the flying V.

At least nobody noticed the ibanez five string bass.

I did have a bully wank while looking at the Flying V. I would never own one but wish I had the bottle to :D

It's the most I have ever paid for a guitar even though I got it fairly cheap as . . . A, I bought it in New York when the pound was flying high. B, it was on sale. C, I didn't pay the tax.

It's got the loudest pick ups and is probably the nicest to play (the longhorn is a contender). However, for a jolly expensive rock guitar is seems to be a bit on the feeble side in terms of sturdiness. I'm knocking bits off it all the time.

Jaguars are damn sexy. I nearly ordered the metallic blue one but ended up getting the sunburst instead. I'm glad I did as it hides the dirt well. I took it in to get the pickup selector changed about 18 months ago and they guy told me off for not looking after it very well. She's in dire need of a service.

I think that the multi pick up selector on my mine went in the first year. Never bothered sorting it out. I don't really like jags anymore, I used to go nuts for them as a teen.

I still want a G700

and an SG

But I don't find wanting guitars 'all consuming' as it used to be for me.

Reminds me of the Shaman.

Pffft.

I saw one in the music exchange for £400 once and didn't buy it. I kicked myself as soon as I got home and called the shop straight up to hold it.

It had been sold in the 30 minutes it took me to get back home.

This is a weird K guitar I picked up. Can't remember how much it cost. Not much though. It plays really badly but feedback's like nobodies business.
