Now, what do you suppose would be the effect on a boy of being raised without a father? I think that bit pretty much confirms he was unsuccessful with the ladies at a crucial stage of his development and has harboured a deathly grudge ever since . I'd say both against them and himself . If you're living with your mother, you don't learn the skills/make the mistakes, everyone makes when they move out on their own. For a lot of people that time is one of the steepest learning curves of their life, with the possible exception of becoming a parent yourself. It should also be noted that more young men live with their parents than young women.
