RIP David Bowie

Can't find the actual clip but this brought tears of mirth to my eyes when I first saw it; the scene from Extras where he humiliates RGs character.

I still find it quite unbelievable that I can watch the video, on this internet thing, and even share it with others.

Had you told me that this would be possible when Space Oddity was released, I'd have been asking for an introduction to your dealer. :D
I think I'd have been quite impressed/excited as an 8 year old.
Talking of the t'internets...the 'b' side of Oddity was "Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud" :hmm:

Gervais was on Radio X talking about how he first made contact with Bowie:

"I sent him a card for his 58th birthday, it said, '58, about time you got a proper job - Ricky Gervais, Comedian' to which he sent a note back saying, 'I have one' David Bowie, Rock God.

I never over came my distaste for the man himself to give his music a fair listen. To me he's just another rock star he thought he could do and get away with anything. Fuck teenagers and flirt with fascism. And it's not that he was a fascist but then saw the error of his ways like Ricky Tomlinson, his fascism was purile and his rejection of it was just as purile. I can only feel contempt for him. And he wrote a few good tunes back in the 70's, he could write a good melody. I recognise that. I was surprised he'd died and it feels like an end of an era in that sense I'm shocked at his death. But the end of that era isn't such a bad thing really.

Ooh, I thought it looked like Kelvingrove. :) Nice of him, but I can't say it works all that well on the organ.

This news is getting more and more surreal for me as the day goes on. I keep forgetting, turning round and something reminds me again :(
